The demo S5 I drove the other day was showing 16mpg - Euro gallons that is

have done 3600 miles in 7 weeks and has averaged 21.4mpg. I think its getting better - but whatever, its great

I have the least economical S5 in the world. 2000 Miles and an average of 12.2mpg

Maybe the way i drive

Now, now. No need to blow a gasket about petro prices at 12 mpg. With the roads you showed me you should get at least 13 mpg but you will love every minute of it.

US petrol prices with my roads would be a perfect combo !

Mine has dropped to just over 14 mpg in the cold weather. The short runs with front and rear heated seats on, heating etc are taking their toll. My long term average has fallen back to under 17 again at 16.7mpg. It was heading towards 20 before the cold spells.

Drat, is that urban or a mixed route?

It's beginning to sound like you're leaning back towards the 3.0 TDi. Stop prevaricating about the bush (to mix my metaphors!) and get that order in!

You've got to decide one way or the other sooner or later - best make it sooner as the waiting time for delivery isn't getting any shorter!
