I picked up my S5 on Saturday...phantom/tuscan, mostly stripped down(No Nav--i own a tom-tom--no B&O etc.
Since I live in New York State, changed the factory tires for all-season F1 Eagles, and glad I did...sleet, a couple inches of snow and freezing rain, Saturday night into Sunday night made driving treacherous. I went out half a dozen times (Dad, I need a video, will you take me, met with an automatic yes!), and had no problems with the roads. It wasn't deep snow, but the roads were slick. Of course, that kind of weather makes going through the break-in mileage a little easier too.
One problem. I wonder if anyone has had the same issue. Tire Pressure Management system light came on within 10 miles of leaving the dealership...I had a meeting, and couldn't go back. Tires are fine. I suspect it is a "calibration" issue since I had the new tires put on Friday.
Car is a truly, truly a gem. No other obvious flaws. Ride is superb. Handling at low speeds is great (all those parking lots are much more manageable with the boosted power assist, I don't care what the nascent race car driver among us say), and the few little tweaks with the MMI make it more user friendly. I'll keep posting over the next few months.
I suspect over time I'm going to be annoyed with the gas mileage, but that's life with a V8 these days. And it's not like it will be a surprise.
Everyone, including my skeptical significant other, loves the car. Can't wait for dry, ice-free roads.
