S5 In My Garage

I picked up my S5 on Saturday...phantom/tuscan, mostly stripped down(No Nav--i own a tom-tom--no B&O etc.

Since I live in New York State, changed the factory tires for all-season F1 Eagles, and glad I did...sleet, a couple inches of snow and freezing rain, Saturday night into Sunday night made driving treacherous. I went out half a dozen times (Dad, I need a video, will you take me, met with an automatic yes!), and had no problems with the roads. It wasn't deep snow, but the roads were slick. Of course, that kind of weather makes going through the break-in mileage a little easier too.

One problem. I wonder if anyone has had the same issue. Tire Pressure Management system light came on within 10 miles of leaving the dealership...I had a meeting, and couldn't go back. Tires are fine. I suspect it is a "calibration" issue since I had the new tires put on Friday.

Car is a truly, truly a gem. No other obvious flaws. Ride is superb. Handling at low speeds is great (all those parking lots are much more manageable with the boosted power assist, I don't care what the nascent race car driver among us say), and the few little tweaks with the MMI make it more user friendly. I'll keep posting over the next few months.

I suspect over time I'm going to be annoyed with the gas mileage, but that's life with a V8 these days. And it's not like it will be a surprise.

Everyone, including my skeptical significant other, loves the car. Can't wait for dry, ice-free roads.

Congratulations, and enjoy it! How does the non-B&O sound system compare (if you've heard the B&O..)?
Congrats ! :D
Congrats! The anticipation is killing me... just a few more weeks now!
Nice and congratulations!

Congrats!

The Tire Pressure Management System probably just needs to be reset to your current tire pressure.. you can do this from the MMI.. Press the CAR button and hunt around. It's in there somewhere.
Yeah...my dealer just told me that. I'll do it tonight...I spent some time with the manual and didn't get that part about a reset. Sounds simple.

As for the B&O, I did have the opportunity to drive a B&O outfitted car for a weekend. While its hard to compare side by side, I would say the difference isn't huge. I'm not a obsessive audiophile so that may explain my willingness to opt for the straight system, and the comment about it not being a huge difference. Since I was looking for ways to pass budgetary muster on the home front, it was a quick way to keep $800 bucks or whatever it is, off the invoice. And, I'm a few years beyond the stage where I need 550 watts in a mobile boombox to cruise through parking lots.
Congrats, beautiful combo!
Nice build. Nice to see another Black/tuscan combo, i haven't seen anyone else on any of the boards with the combo other than you and I.

+1 for Tuscan... except Ibis complements it better :D

You know what's funny, I feel opposite. I wish I could test my car in those conditions. Dry weather all the time isn't all that great... need some variety!

Enjoy!

Yes the weather in Cali can really drive ya nuts
I think the combo is only going to grow on me...my dealer went gaga...loved it. Driving it around is only getting better...
