I have had the standard message from my local Audi dealership that my cambelt needs replacing. Car is Nov 2016 so just under 5 years old but only has 35k on the clock. Surely I don't need to do the cambelt yet? Any thoughts?
Yes, but a lot of engine now use chains, but Audi still like to use belts on the 4 pot engines and it is normally about 80k miles or 5 years, whichever is sooner. I your case it is 5 years and the low mileage is irrelevant. It is up to you, but would you risk it?
A good independent garage will be able to do the job. Sometimes dealers will price match.
