S5 Brake caliper logo

All,

I will post pics later but has anybody else noticed that the S5 logo on the stock brake calipers gets brake dust or something black on it and you can't get it off? I was wondering if there is a easy way to get the logo back to stock by way of a cleaning agent? I wash my wheel almost every week but the S5 logo is stained somehow...

Yeah, I too have noticed that the red color in the logo on my brake calipers is less vibrant than it used to be. (Can't say I've noticed anything black on them, though.) I too am interested to know how others are keeping the logo looking like new.

The red hasn't worn off that much but its got dark silver around the edges and its tinted a darker grey on some areas.. I first determined its probably brake dust soaked on so I used some wheel cleaner on the hub and the caliper area.. I also cleaned and polished but it isn't coming off... I'd love to know if it is replaceable.. I'm sure but if it happens continually, obviously I'm not going to worry about it..
This is a gel that you can allow to sit for 2 hours on your wheels and anything else you want to clean, and it does a very good job of getting out tough stains. I let it sit on my wheels, exhaust, and calipers and it brings the shine back to life.

Nice.. Thanks for the reminder.. I use P21S products on my S5 and they are very good.. I have some P1S Wheel polish and P21s Wash for the vehicle.. I'll try the gel and see how it works..

Thanks for the link for Proper Autocare. I see all of these brands and cleaning gear that I am not familiar with and cannot find in local stores. Thus I am usually stuck with Mother's or Maguires. I ordered a bunch of "goodies" from them for "spring" cleaning (too much snow and crap on the roads now to do a good detailing job.)
No worries.

They have the best selection of detailing products around...

Try out the AutoGlym interior products and the P21S exterior products. They will make your car look it's best....
Just a thought, but my s5 only has the badge on the front wheels, anyone have them on the back as well???

S5's 09' and back only come with the front two calipers logo.. I'ver searched to find where I can get a replacement badge to put on the back, but don't know if they are easily available.. of course, I haven't called a dealer anyway..

I'd really honestly prefer not to have the S5 badge everywhere on the car.. Its already on the front calipers, in the back, on the front grill...
Just used the P21S gel on my wheels--IT REALLY WORKS.
Sizzle, thanks again for the link. I'm certainly going to give their other products a try. I've been using Maguires products and if you keep on top of the problems, it works ok but the P21S did a better:music-smiley-019::music-smiley-019::music-smiley-019::music-smiley-019::music-smiley-019::music-smiley-019: job after letting my wheels go for a month--too much snow and cold to get out and keep up with the program. Today was finally good weather--50 degrees (f) feels like a heat wave and car cleaned up nice.
By the way, just crossed over the 10,000 mile mark. The car still pleases me and still draws comments after a year.
Glad I could help man.......
