Hi guys

new here

bought a new limited ed RS5 sportsback in June this year and had a few issue when foot is flat to floor and car is not changing gear at the red line and therefore losing power and misfiring

been in once and no fault found but yesterday the engine warning light flashed and again it lost power after hitting the Rev limit and started misfiring

normal driving nothing unusual to report but this issue has made me lose confidence overtaking and could result in a dangerous position to be in if power goes at a critical moment

any idea what could be causing it?
AA came out as I wanted it recovered and sent back to dealership and plugged it in and no error code but a text saying historical misfiring

it’s all a mystery but in a car 3 months old with less than 3000 miles on the clock it is v disappointing

thank you

Goodness mate sorry to hear, having spent soooooo much of your hard earned one should not have to have this kind of problem. Terrible. Personally I would return the car to your supplying stealer and demand that they fix this definitively otherwise demand yer money back. Contact Audi UK too. Balls to this!!!

I also took delivery of a new RS5 few months ago, Carbon Black Edition probably the same as yours based on your carbon fibre dashboard photo?

You will have to push the dealer hard, and involve Audi UK, if you expect any response!

It is possible it is a coil pack or cabling if the same cylinder is repeatedly misfiring but that is something obvious the dealer should have checked?

Here is my experience of last few months.

Mine has errors in the rear camera intermittently flickering or blackout, although other cameras are all fine, sods law that the one camera I actually use is the faulty one! Also, some errors on the MMI intermittently reseting itself going black screen then restarting with "Initialising" on the dash, then eventually working. And, the electric seats giving errors every time a button is pressed to move the seats.

All shown to Dealer, who eventually performed a "software update" according to the paperwork. VCDS showed no software update took place. When challenged, the Dealer finally admitted no actual software update took place and claimed the factory is aware of the issues but do not know how to fix it hence nothing they can do!

Audi UK have been contacted asking them to explain why Audi are building and delivering cars knowing they are faulty with no known repair capabilities. Still waiting for a reply!

Also, newspaper reports show that VAG cars recently supplied have faults:

VW, Audi and Skoda owners angry over fault in SOS warning system

After spending the sort of money we spent on these cars, you would think Audi would make some kind of a response. So far no response.

Otherwise, the car is amazing and a great pleasure to drive! I realise that sounds a bit like "Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how was the play...?"

I hope your issues can all be fixed soon too! You may need to contact Audi UK and push for a response.
