RS5 brake disc replacemnet options

Going ahead with the brembo slotted brake disk upgrade kit for RS5 that increases disk size from OE 265mm to 280mm and uses OE RS5 calipers. Brembo part #102.9003A. Includes brackets to move the caliper out to fit the larger disk. Can also buy replacement outer disks and reuse hats, etc. Have heard that disks should last from 3 to 5 track days depending on how hard you go. Any other opinons on that?

Using Carbotech XP-10 pads for track days. RS5 is not listed in the Carbotech catelog, but almostS50 introduced me to parts guru Kris Miller eurostatusparts@gmail.com who was able to get Carbotech to make the pads. These would work with any RS5 with OE bembo 8-pot calipers.

This combo should give me the extra brake power I want for the track:
- Larger size to disipate heat better and have better leverage
- True floating design supposed to allow longer life under track conditions
- Slotted supposed to crack less then drilled under hard use

Have not found any aftermarket replacement back brake disks to fit RS5. Anyone have any ideas there? Brembo has a bbk kit for the RS5 rear but it is not e-brake compatible, so no go on that.
I do about 12 track days per year, but not in my RS5, which is a cab (and just delivered in Dec!). I think this steel brake setup is a great cost effective option. I track a ZR1 with carbon ceramics and while the performance is great and it's nice to have the advantage of lighter weight and little noise, the parts are much more expensive to replace than steel rotors. You usually have more brake pad options with steel also. My ZR1 brakes are Brembo and brake pad changes are very easy; hopefully yours will be, too. On prior cars I have tracked I switched pads and wheels for a track setup (better braking but noisey and dusty , stickier tires that are not so good in the rain), then switched back to either stock or low dust/low noise pads and real-world tires. It's more effort of course but it's a more cost effective way of getting the most out of the setups if you track a heavy car like this with any regularity. I have been in a friend's RS5 coupe on the track and the handling and grip were great. He used stock rotors and Hawk pads (pretty sure, I'll have to confirm that), with good results but this was only a 2 day track weekend as his car arrived late summer and has not had more track days yet. I have heard that in order to change brake pads on this car that a laptop for reprogramming was required. Is that true?

Carbotech does make the pads for the front already (same Brembo 8 piston caliper used on the B7 RS4 and R8). 4 pads per caliper. I ordered directly from Carbotech (ordered my set back in early Feb).

I posted a how to guide on swapping the pads out on Audi Revolution.

I'm going with a RP2 in the front and XP10 in the rear (had great success with this combo on my modded B8 S4).

I'm in the same boat in looking at rotor replacements. I'm thinking of chatting up with Girodisc to see if they can do anything as well.

Steel rotors are far more economical for track use. Drop a wheel while swapping pads out or going 'off' would be very precarious.

I'm wondering if the B7 RS4/R8/RS5 brake rotors are all the same Brembo part number. If so, perhaps the more established braking parts for the RS4/R8 could possibly be used on our cars.
That write up on brake pad changes is exactly what my buddy and I have both been looking for. Thanks for taking the time to do it!
