RS Tyre Pressures

1796 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Pulsarlaser
What is the correct tyre pressures to be using on the RS. I know this label says 41psi and 35psi for the 20” wheels I’ve got but I’ve never in my life ran over 40psi on a car. I’d think the tyres were over inflated and I’d wear them incorrectly rather than a nice overall even wear. What’s you guys/gals thoughts?
I’m currently running approx 34psi all round for two people.

W-rated tyres are rated up to 168mph. Y-rated tyres are rated up to 186mph.
A tyre with a higher speed rating will give better grip and stopping power but may not last as long and may not perform as well in cold weather/winter conditions.
Along with different compounds Y rated tyres are likely to have stiffer sidewalls. This means the tyre pressure can be a little lower than a W rated tyre despite dimensions being the same.
You are right to be cautious as too much over inflation isn't a good thing
