Hello all. My 2010 A5 convertible backup camera module has water damage . The code said no module communication. So I pulled the module out and it was rusty /poor shape . My question is: i cannot find a used module with the exact part number. My original part number is 8fo 907 441 and all the used modules I’ve found have one letter off in the first column from mine 8t0 907 441. The build date of the modules are within 6 months . And the hardware numbers are the same .will the used module work? And does it need programmed after install?

Have you checked the fuse? Is there power going to the module?

As the software version (second part number) is the same it should work. There is only one way to find out!

if you can’t read the coding from your original module it’s hard to say if the new one will need recoding as they are fitted to several cars. If you do change the coding it will show a “camera not calibrated” error, but will still work.

Okay bought a new backup camera module ($ 388.00 ugh) because couldn’t find a used one. Installed with no problem after checking power and ground before hooking up. hooked up vcds and opened the back up camera . Check codes first And had two codes. Module needed coding and module needed calibrated. I coded the module to the model car and checked the camera and it was working fine. I don’t have the special tools to calibrate the module and I tested the guide lines in the screen and seemed close enough for me so I didn’t worry about calibrating at this time. Just glad I got it working.

Thee are pdf versions of the calibration chart online if you want to calibrate and remove the error.
Did you find out where the water came from that damaged the module?
Oh I need to check them out. I just purchased this and have no history on it. The top was not working And wonder if the top was stuck open in rain. It has been in a few rain storms sense I bought it but I haven’t seen any water back there yet. I’m keeping a close eye on it though.

Ran into the exact same issue. Had a bad 8F0 907 441 module and took the chance on a used 8T0 907 411 C off eBay. To my luck it worked perfectly. Hope this helps someone else out couldn’t find any other info on it.

Hi! I also have some water damage to my unit and will purchase a used one on ebay. I took the current unit out and cleaned it up - but could not figure out how to plug these 2 wires back in... What am i missing? Is there something special I need to do with those little tabs?
Thank you!!

Hi John! This is the plug that the clip came from - but the more that I look at it, the more I think thatI broke it taking it out... The plugs come from cabels that go to the rear camera and I thihk the reverse light. Plugging into the reverse cameram module (OEM 8T0 907 441 C) on the RHS of the trunk. Had a devil of a job upplugging the cabels - probably broke them taking them out. Some electrical tape should keep them in place.... I hope.
Thank you!!

The grey and green connectors are knows a FAKRA connectors. They are quite a snug fit so some tape should prevent them coming loose. You can crimp on a new connector but it requires a special crimp tool.
