£400 is too much! Yours is a pre 09 car which means the ECU is accessible in the cabin and therefor should not cost any more than £250 ( mine is a 59 plate so costs about £400 but I got discount to £330 with Angel Tuning as the ECU is in the engine bay and is a bugger to get to). Stage 1 will get you between 280-305 dependant on what you ask for and a few other factors. And that's just with a remap then you can choose to lose the DPF and do the exhaust and air filter for more power.
