Hi guys, I’m new to the this particular forum
Based in South Cave, East Yorkshire. I have. 2013 Audi A5 Auto 3.0 TDI, been having a rattle on idle from as long As I’ve purchased In 2017
Whether in D or P, it’s always there, I would think more on D
I’ve taken a video so hopefully this can be heard if listened carefully ( might be best with headphones )
When I press the AC The rattle completely disappears
If not clear enough I can upload a better video
All belts pulleys including crank shaft has been replaced due to age and mileage
Can’t seem to upload a video, any help

Thanks for that, are you saying they can help with this rattle..is this something quite familiar, previous car was Audi A4 3.0tdi and no rattle whatsoever
Phantom old pal you need an independent VAG specialist if you wish to keep the shirt on your back!! With these er mature cars the official "stealers" only wanna take yer dosh so an indi is essential. Have her checked with VCDS. Good luck and keep us informed!!!

Hi Simon
I’m going to have to do that I guess, thanks for the info..
I’m at 80k now and it’s just something that’s been niggling at me

Just had a full service done with new front discs and pads also looking at the auto box oil changed, has anyone noticed any difference with regards to better, smoother gear changes..I know the S Tronic boxes hold on the the gears a little longer though

They are the only indi that would do my starter motor seem knowledgeable worth a call.
Can you get a recording of the rattle? Immediate fear could be timing chain but very unlikely at that milage. My water pump caused an awful racket when it was tired out, that's a likely option.
