I have an Audi A5 S Line Tdi Quattro S-A, with 45,000 miles on the clock.
I went to drive my car and it goes into gear but does not move. The rev goes up, indicating that the car is trying to move off but will not.
This problem occurred a few times, but after starting and stopping the vehicle, it eventually moved off and drove fine.
There is no check engine light, or gearbox warning light. The car runs smooth and no weird sounds coming from it while idling or driving.
I took it to an Audi specialist and they ran all possible tests to determine the problem but it seems to have fixed itself, they told me that they drove it around for an hour and tried to replicate the problem but nothing, the car works fine.
But I don’t want to keep calling and waiting for recovery every time it happens. I got stuck in a petrol station for almost 2 hours, starting and stopping the car but it just wouldn’t move off.
Oh and when the problem first occurred, all of my A/C settings were set to different temperatures and the fans were blowing in different directions to what I had previously. Could it have something to do with the computer system inside the car?
If anyone has experienced this before, please tell me how you resolved the issue. Thank you.
