Hi all,
I currently have a 64 plate 2.0 Diesel. I'm looking to buy a 2013 RS5 44k miles for £28k. What tips and warnings do I need before maybe going ahead?

Thanks in advance. See below my current vs what I'm looking to buy.

Yeah where are you based? If your close to me I don't mind scanning it. VCDS should show if any errors. some errors (a lot of them) wont flag an engine light.

I could be very very wrong but to my memory, its 30k its supposed to be serviced. that being said I serviced my one at 70k miles (it has not been serviced ever before that) and it looked all good to me.
Two massive magnets on the sump that collects debri were clean so I'm hoping my one is a solid unit.

Thanks for the info, how much was the service?

I'm midlands based, you close by?

Mate you need VCDS to scan the car. It is not expensive and can save you LOADS.

Vcds scan
Gearbox fluids and filters should have been done at 60,000 kms
Check pads and rotors ($$)
Some of the front control arms and suspension components might be worn at this mileage. Battery. Basically you're looking at recent servicing. I brought a 2010 at 75,000kms and it cost $$$ to play catchup on all this stuff. Factor that into your price offered.

Hi

I have a 2011 RS5 50k miles and have seen some of these expenses, which I budgeted for in the purchase.
Be aware that the DRS system can be a black hole for your wallet. To replace each corner can cost 2 - 2.5 k depending where you go. There are a few indies that can pressurise the system these days but it’s expensive kit, and expensive parts!
Yes re 2k discs although you can get cheaper price and good quality on AUTODOC.
Stonking cars though, and the V8 puts a smile on your face every time you start it. 👍🏼

Dont forget that the RS cars are very specialist so that means that ALL parts you need will cost far more than the same parts for your current car and even for the S cars. As I understand the S cars are really nice versions of the standard car, whereas the RS cars are a big step up in price, performance and of course costs!!!
