Picked up My S5! Needs Brake Pads...

Picked up from the garage....love the way it looks and general quality...still learning everything!...5 miles out of the garage Marshall Landrove Bedford...the front pad warning light came on.

As I'm south coast, garage has agreed for me to get this done locally and they will cover...

Audi quoted £385 to provide and replace front pads..

What is a more realistic price?

I'd take it to Audi , the garage should have spotted this and sorted before you collected the car in my opinion.

Yeah, I appreciate the location isn't ideal but given it literally happened as you left, I'd put the onus on them. only issue is they then might try and fudge it to get rid of you.
If you do it locally, get them to put in writing that they will cover the cost too

That Audi price I guess is replacing the front discs too!? Depending if there is a lip on the disc, you may need to replace the discs too, which makes the Audi price not so bad - as you are not paying. :)

But brake pads were an advisory on this car 2 months ago! That's why the garage is offering payment. They hoped you'd buy and not get the pad warning as soon as you drove away! :D

Great detective work my friend 👍

Yep, online checks are a good way to check a car out even if you are buying from a dealer.

I don't even trust my local Audi dealer! I was going to get a service plan with them just so I had FASH, but with my experience, that was no longer an option.

Yeah, I always check the MOT history and question if any of the advisories have been completed. If you don't, can lead to expensive costs down the road.

Bunch of dishonest crooks!!!!!! Well done Dave!!! BASTARDS.
Anyone any idea if the disks on a 2018 S5 should be 338mm or 350mm? ECP are coming back with a couple of options.
