Hi all,

I noticed some oil leaks from the PCV diaphram area. Do you think the PCV should be replaced? The car idles fine most of the time, but every once in a while, when stopped at the red light, the engine would shake a bit and then go back to normal smooth idling.

Have you experienced anything similar? Any advice would be appreciated.

Best,

Alex

Good question, dunno. May be sufficient to remove, reseal and refit perhaps......

Update: So I took off the diaphram and it is EXACTLY the SAME as the RKX Tech replacement: https://www.rkxtech.com/products/rkx...lve-repair-kit (same markings of Audi logo, Elles, etc.)

The diaphram was in perfect condition, so I put it back and cleaned around the PCV valve for further observation. Since RKX says their diaphram is indestructable and I have the exact same one, I'll send the RKX one back.

Also, I used a torque wrench and double-checked the bolts for 11 NM. I was able to turn about 10 degrees of additional turn on 3 or 4 bolts before the torque wrench clicked, so it was off by a tiny amount. The rest of the bolts were fine.

If I see more oil stains, I'll try replacing the gasket next.
