Hi All, new to this forum and Audi ownership. Just bought a 2016 A5 2.0 Tdi S-line Quattro. I must say there is some great info on here!!!!

I've read the topics about parking sensors not turning on automatically. Our other car does this so was hoping there was a way of sorting it. I understand that auto activating would be annoying to some people but I guess it is just down to personal preference. The car is behaving exactly as it should do, i.e. sensors activate when reverse is selected (S tronic) or the Parking button is pressed. Read through the threads and can't seem to find a fix. I have had a friend look at the car via vcds and there was no option to change any values to do with the sensors in module 9 Central elec to do with Automatic PDC Front. Looked at module 10 too and nothing there either.

However, I have also read and downloaded the files and the pdf to do with updating the MMI firmware.

I think automatic front sensors were on 2017 onward cars where there is an option within the driver assist menu.

My question is, has someone had a similar 2016 setup as mine with MMI HN+_EU_AU3G_P0925 ( or older), updated the MMI Firmware to HN+_EU_AU3G_K0942, and found any options in the driver assist menus that weren't there before. Specifically are there any options to enable auto front sensors?

Ello Vinnie mate and welcome to the Nuthouse where the doctor is sure you fit in fine!!!! No idea about the sensors sorry but best idea is to purchase a VCDS system which enables you to modify almost everything on the car!! Enjoy.

Couldn’t see anything on VCDS , but could be user error.

Not really sure what your question is ? on my 2015 A5 cab , both front and rear sensors activated automatically when reverse or parking sensor butoon pushed , are you saying the front ones do not come on when reverse is engaged ? do the front ones work at all ?
I cant remember an option to not auto turn them on with the vagcom program so it might be a fault , best way would be to get someone with the software to run a scan for errors .
Bit of an obvious question but have you asked the previous owner whether they worked when he sold the car ? if bought from a dealer then its something they should fix .
