Hey Guys,

I'm having a real hard time trying to find a parking sensor module that is set up for optical parking and rear camera, but only for 4 (rear) sensors. Unfortunately ETKA just lists every single module with the same description (something like "Parking Assistance Module".

Every parts specialist I have spoken to has advised that I get the chassis number (or reg number for a UK vehicle) that has this setup, so they can find the part that way.

From what I understand, having the rear camera with just rear sensors is impossible to order in the UK - but it is very possible in the US. Do any of you guys across the pond have such a setup, and would you be willing to send over your chassis number (or take a peak in your car for the module number)?

Preferably looking for a 919 475 number rather than a 910 283.

I've been missing this forum, unfortunately haven't had time as of late. Once I do, expect to finally finish up and post all of my remaining mods done (extinguisher, drivers seat drawer, mirrors etc). My remaining incomplete mod are the parking sensors. Have everything done (harnesses, mounted the sensors etc)...just need the time to connect it all together and program.

The answer to your control unit question is 8K0 919 475 H, which I originally had - optical cam/rear sensors. There are three connection points on this unit, a 16 pin, and 2-12 pins, for which only one is used without front sensors. For front and back sensors I replaced it with 8K0 919 475 R. Best to provide this info to your dealer to verify that it corresponds with your vehicle (VIN).

Really appreciate the reply- it's been a pain in the backside trying to find part numbers for this module- my current one is "8K0 919 475 T" - and whilst I haven't had confirmation from Audi that this module isn't compatible... it rejects the coding for optical parking and for a camera. Kind of conclusive! I assume that with rear only the optical display just... doesn't do anything for the front parts? Will go pick up a H module and check this out ASAP.

Hey iwBen, When 4 sensors or 8 sensors is indicated, does this just mean "only rear sensors (4)" or "rear plus front sensors (8)"? Thanks for the excellent information!

Sorry, to clarify, 4 being rear only, and 8 being rear and front.

As an update on my side, I naively bought a 1T0 919 475 H in an eBay auction (all giddy about reading Wes' post and finding a H for such a bargain!). Suffice to say... headache. I can't seem to get the sensors to engage (I've run some tests with VAGCOM and it seems it isn't registering the change to reverse gear).

For now I'm back on my 8K0 919 475 T (which noone seems to be able to cite the capacity of, though it does not accept coding for a camera or optical parking which seems pretty conclusive).

If you come up with any revelations 3space make sure you post them- Loc and a few other guys have some great resources but they're starting to get a little decentralized these days!

@iwBen - Thanks! I'm a little behind you guys - I pick up my MY2012 (not 2012.5) S5 cab about 5-Sep-11. I just want to know what is possible while I have time to push back my order to a 2012.5 if retro-fitting camera/sensors is impossible, and/or if I hear that 2012.5 will add them back for the Canadian market. Also interested to know if Google integration will be included in 2012.5, but no reliable information either way on that, at least that I can find.

Unfortunate to hear...the part that doesn't work you say is 1T0 919 475 H? Just to clarify, my original module that worked with my options for rear sensors and camera...is as posted, 8K0 919 475 H. Parts for my mods are generally OEM from Audi, can take a risk via eBay.

Oh yeah Wes sorry I didn't mean to imply you'd given me misinformation! I took a gamble on a 1T0 (which I believe is a VW part number) which didn't work. Still got my eyes peeled for an 8K0 H module!

3space, I've held off on upgrading my MMi 3G low to MMi 3G high for exactly that reason... will feel really daft if I shell out for an upgrade now and something new comes out. A3/A4/A5 are the only models to not have the "new" software now, so we should be in for an upgrade soon.

So, now that I have my 2012 S5 cab, have installed SmartTop, activated Voice Recognition via VAG-COM, and finally done all the other VAG-COM mods that I wanted, I'm seriously looking into converting my existing *Rear Acoustic Parking Sensors* to *Rear Optic + Accoustic Parking Sensors + Rear Cam*. Does my control module have video in straightaway? Or, can I insert wires via connector pins into the appropriate connector to have this hookup possible? Sorry if you answered this already, but not completely clear on what I need to do now. My car does not have TV in Motion or anything like that (but I can play DVD in motion). Thanks!

8K0 919 475 R (0070 firmware) is the same with 8K0 919 475 G (0040 firmware) since they have the same harware part number.

So if you have 8K0 919 475 G you can update (if you have the know how) or upgrade it to 8K0 919 475 R. I have done this. I did not have a camera either. To enable the camera you have to change some VCDs coding settings.
