Hi, I'm new to this forum but I need some good advice about my parking brake not releasing.
I have a manual S5 4.2 V8 2007.
The parking brake has been working fine for years, releasing when I put it in first/reverse, seat belt on, lift the clutch, parking brake goes off and away I go.
Now it doesn't!! and I get the message on the display saying "press brake and release parking brake" or similar.
Why has it stopped working now, so frustrating, I see that you can bypass this with the VAGCOM thingy, which I don't have, but I just want to know why is this happening now and how to fix it.
Any help or info appreciated.
