OK, so the MMI on my 3.0 TDi is telling me it wants an oil top up, no problem, quickly refer to manual and have the required specification of oil to meet long life servicing - obviously I can get this from Audi.

This is where my dilema begins, my company provide me with an Arval fuel card which covers fuel and oil, of course Audi dealers don't take fuel cards and I'm bollox'd if I'm paying for it if I don't have too, so my questions are as follows (Probably been asked before but I'm afraid my 12 years of IT experince counts for nothing with the search engine on here. lol):-

1). Is there a brand (IE. Castrol/Mobil etc) that meets the required VW50700 standard.

2). Given I need to purchase on a fuel card is the answer to 1). readily available at any filling station chain (ie. Shell/Texaco etc)?

Thanks in advance.

Does you manual actually state 507 00 spec as im sure its states 504 00 spec. Shell helix is your best bet and easily available from Shell stations

I cant remember as I sit here and type but the free oil given away with the car was either castrol or mobil. It was gold coloured. I have a gut feeling we covered this in a past thread so it may be worth a search.

manual states 505 00 or 507 00 with the latter being the only one suitable for cars with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).

I'd recommend Mobil1 ESP or Castrol EDGE. One thing to be wary of is not to mix fully synthetic oil with standard mineral oils (or so I'm told - happy to be corrected!). I'm fairly sure the factory fill oil is a Castrol fully synthetic, so I'd put some more of that in there or try some Mobil1.

By the way, should have mentioned that you can get Mobil1 in any Esso station, and Castrol can be found at BP.
