Guys, I’ve broke my RS out of winter storage, oh boy, I seriously missed her. I’ll try describe my experience to bring you guys along with me.
As I opened the drivers door I heard the fuel pump priming, fantastic!! As i entered I Was reminded I was in something special with the unmistakable aroma of Nappa leather just wakening my senses.
Would she start first time?...
I put her in park, foot on brake and pushed start...OH my GOODNESS!!!! The sound of a cold start was amazing, honestly. I slipped her in to dynamic mode and I heard the valves opening, the engine turned a deeper rumble and what a smile it brought to my face. I let her idle and gently warm for a considerable time then took her out in to the fresh air. Only one issue has surfaced and that’s a brake pad warning light on in the dash. There’s nothing wrong with the pads as they and the disks were fitted brand new when I bought it October 18 and I’ve only covered 2k mls since then. Anyway, That’s the two of us reunited again for the year but what adventures we’ll get up to I’m not quite sure? The current situation may limit us. I had the NC500 planned with my bro in his 1985 Opel Manta GTE, old and new coupe’s together, a cosmetic upgrade and an Audi Car Club meet scheduled but will any be possible?
Final thought...”What an enjoyable motor”.

Blimey- I thought I was reading a porno story at the start there:D, very poetic. Glad you're reunited. Gutted for you regarding NC500 though. I'm slightly jealous of your brother as I had 2 Opel Manta's back in the day, now there's a car I REALLY miss, I had it sideways more than I had it in a straight line. Well done bud.

Well done Mr F, love the enthusiasm. My daily drive is a Tesla model 3 performance, but I still love getting into my S5 on the weekends, sounds, smells etc sheer joy. So much so I'm keeping her and going to get a stage 2 mod done

Stage 2 Tony, what HP will that take it to? You’re showing your “enthusiast” side too...can’t blame you for not wanting to let the S5 go. I hope like me, you bring us A5OC’s along when you get your Stage 2 done.

Mr Fergus..

If I remember correctly it was you who covered her up so she couldn't see what was going on, trickle charged her off the mains, locked her up and left her for months.

You sir are a pervert.....there are websites full of stuff like this......allegedly.

Around 470 I believe. Just getting quotes now to see what insurance will do... And then wait for covid-19 to come to and end. I should have some reasonable money saved by then from all this isolation, having said that the amazon delivery chap knows me by first name now :D

rackingman...and you’d be a premium member ?.
Was keeping up to date with your “You know it’s not an Audi dealer” post and loved the comment...”And if I have to go in it as a passenger I can always wear a wig and shades.” Still haven’t stopped laughing ?

Tony, you’ll be in RS territory with 470 and a manually operated V8. Seriously tasty, a pity the RS was not offered as an optional manual though. Best of both worlds with your S5.

Regarding my brake pad sensor light I’ll have a look at the wear indicator cable located on the front left tomorrow and see if I’ve unseated it somehow.

For the light to come on the wire is either broken or the connector has come apart
Tony, I’ll jack her up tomorrow and check that out. I’ve maybe knocked it or slackened the connector because I have thoroughly cleaned the whole hubs and wheel arch areas over the past 7 months as well as taking the wheels off and on. Hopefully a 2 min fix. There’s still plenty of meat in the shoes so defo will be a cable/sensor issue.
