2013 A5 coupe s-line quatro blackedition 2.0 tfsi.
I have searched online on how to install an ignition controlled 12v power socket in the boot of my car as there is not one already exsisting ( previouse owner didnt get the pack). According to the fuse diagrams i have seen online there should be one in block C, fuse space number 2 but every fuse in all the blocks are permanent live. Tried ignition off and waiting 15 mins to see if one would turn off but none do. In the spare fuse spaces only one half of the contacts are actually there and are all permanent live. Has anyone else come across this problem. Does anyone know of a good "How To" of fitting 12v ignition controlled socket in the boot. Appreciate all answers, Thanks

I think that fuse panel ST4 (in the boot, below), which is powered by Terminal 15 relay J329, is only used if optional equipment that need it are fitted to the car. Otherwise, you need to look at fuse panel ST1 (driver side instrument panel) or ST1 (passenger side IP) for Terminal 15/switched power. In the boot look for Sockets relay J807 in position E:

Output of this relay is switched (and powers the 12V outlets). --g

Thanks DrGER for the reply but that fuse box must be different spec. I am in the UK and mine looks different. Mine is like this with a 20a fuse in fuse panel C (brown) 2 but it is constant live. From what I understand from an internet search, it should be ignition controlled ? The existing 12v sockets in my car, on the front console, in the centre armrest and behind the armrest ARE ignition controlled. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JJmOlmPnPsU/maxresdefault.jpg 😞

@stevenp : I don't have the A5 wiring diagrams, as such, but the B8 models are all configured similarly. Here, panel D is not fitted due to lack of required equipment that needs Terminal 15 (switched) power. All other rear panels are Terminal 30 (unswitched). Your A5 should have the relay panel noted here: Fuse box diagram Audi A5 and relay with assignment and location
As I noted above, you should look at relay J807 in position E to supply switched 12V to a new socket in the boot.

BTW, when I added a 12V socket to our '14 A4, I made it unswitched: New DIY, Trunk Accessory Plug
Looking at the post again I'm reminded that fuse panel F was reconfigured for the B8 face-lift. The earlier panel F had switched power at fuse block ST4 (red), while the face-lift does not. --g
