Will vote tomorrow/Sat!!!

Personally, I press things at first, but read the manual cover to cover early on as I hate not knowing how stuff works!

It's a good point Crespo. Actually, was quite funny yesterday - nice older chap did the handover with me (must admit, couldn't get out of my head the comment from a poster on the thread on collection/delivery about listening to the salesman droning on when all you're thinking is "For Chrissakes, shut up and tell me how to start the thing!"); after he'd run through the basics, I started to bombard him with questions prompted directly by contributions to this site.

Must say, that threw him. On three occasions, he stared at me blankly, said "I'll be back in a moment" and sure enough returned a moment later with a different bod in tow (I had the Sales Director, Chief technician and some other random contributor), all of whom seemed to have their own specialist areas.

He was most perplexed when I told hime that Audi had clearly forgotten to put a dipstick in the tube (which merely seemed to have a plug inserted in it) - and then it was my turn to be surprised when the Chief Tech told me that there isn't one, oil level checks are all done on the MMI and the tube's only there for them to use during service.

These Germans - what will they think of next?

I am a pending S5 owner and ordered the Owners Manual to read to relieve the boredom while waiting for my car to come in.
Maybe I'm just obsessive.

BTW... if you took all of the silly WARNING messages out of the manual, it would be a really quick read.

I had to laugh at Ian's post!

I think being a techie in IT we have this thing about needing to know how things work.

We do have the press it and see how it works mentallity too though with a new toy!

Ronnie.
