I've owned VWs but never an Audi. I'm looking for a fun & comfortable used car with a manual transmission. I recently test drove a 2013 A5 Manual quattro 2.0T Coupe with 70k miles, single-owner, no accidents, and loved it; however, I'm concerned about what I might be getting myself into with cost to maintain. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Many thanks!

The face-lift B8 platform (A4, A5) is generally reliable. The 2.0T engine, however, can be problematic due to the piston rings design. Maintenance records are important here: better than spec (10K miles) oil changes using VAG spec fully synthetic engine oil is a fair predictor that excessive oil consumption will not be an issue. The 6MT is rare in these (even speaking statistically!). Have a local indy shop that specializes in VAG cars give it a good pre-sale inspection.

The A5 coupe shares enough with the A4 sedan that this thread is likely relevant: B8/B8.5 Buyer's Guide and "Looking to buy" Question Thread
