Narrower in the back!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

My Toyo's don't look stretched, just a subtly curved sidewall. Are you rolling on Falkens Sizzle?
Hey Alwin, it looks like he wrote "wider in back". I have seen sizzle's car (on toyos) and he is right about the slightly stretched look. It still looks good though, and I didn't notice it until he pointed it out (but now I notice). (drats!)

Put down the Budweiser Al. I said wider in back.....:D

Now i've just about convinced myself to experiment with 10.5 and 9.5 in a gunmetal color. This because my other gripe is the brightness of the wheels in direct sunlight....

We shall see.....

Damn, well good luck. I'd rather get other mods:
CAI, ECU, Supercharger etc etc.

I got the AWE downpipes btw Sizzle...see if my Milltek's can pack an even beefier punch =D 1hp gain is better than no hp gain! haha

I ordered them as well!!
I ordered them with Express Shipping but haven't heard anything. I'm hoping to see a little gain, but more importantly emit some even sweeter music from the pipes.....

EDIT: Just called AWE and the pipes will be completed end of next week and will be at my door on Monday....

You have good taste, so I'm not doubting or trying to change your mind. I just wanted to share that as a guy with a vehicle w/black wheels, the dark colored wheels get old after a while. Sometimes a little shine isn't a bad thing.......

Yeah, I agree. I still haven't ordered my new wheels because I can't decide on silver or anthracite (with chrome lip) for the same reason as sizzle. The anthracite color is bit lighter than gunmetal, and I think it is kind of in-between silver and gunmetal (sort of). :D

Right. I used the word gunmetal, but it will not be a dark grey. It will actually be a custom color. The wheel I am considering is a mesh wheel so it will not show as dark as a spoke wheel.

I probably won't do it, but it's definitely under consideration.

Nice!
(begin peer pressure)
You should go for it, I saw a black R8 today with what looked like the "anthracite" color (or whatever you call it). It had chrome rims...looked sweet!
(end peer pressure)
I am _probably_ going with the anthracite after seeing the R8...although it has 22" wheels amd MAN! were they huge.

Man this is confusing. So what's the optimal size for running close to stock comfort for 20''? 275/30/25. Im running 9.5 all around and im keeping the same width although I dont really understand why I need to, so Im choosing between 255/30 and 275/30, Tire Rack recommends 265, but I hear 265 wheels are really rare and hard to find when I do end up needing a pair.
I also hesitate with going 275 cuz it feels a little too wide for the front wheels. Alwin are you feeling any performance loss from stock?
Im sure 255 would be a lot faster off the line

The 5 is my daily cruiser...wasn't really putting much consideration into optimal performance gains. My primary goal was to retain stock ride quality and the 275/30 achieved this goal.

Sidenote: will be giving the 5 a spin on Thunderhill this june for shits n giggles though =) But not on the 20s hopefully, on the 18s (if they arrive in time) if not on my stockies.

HRE says I should go with a 265 tire for my 20x9.5 wheel. They say that is the exact rolling diameter as stock. I have not checked with Tire Rack yet to see what they say, but my wheels are being sent directly to Tire Rack from HRE because there headquarters are in the city I live in and a friend of mine who works there is going to put the right size tire on for me. Or so I hope!

DirtyS5: I'm interested to see if Tire Rack reccomends 265 for my 9.5 as well, we shall see

Tirerack also recommends a 265/30 for both 9.0 and 9.5 fitments. To have the identical rolling diameter of stock would be a 255/30/20 (+1 fitment) but the 265/30 adds 10mm of additional width and only 6mm to the overall diameter. Here's a good calculator for tire measurements http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit

Front only, though I probably have to take them off soon.

Prospective buyer wants everything stock. But it's all good, I will be xfering the mods over to SGTAngry's Sprint Blue beauty once I get a sale confirmation for my S5...he's getting his finances together.

I'm seriously tired of seeing white sportscars.
