Have you ever gone into the Volume Settings menu in the MMI to set the desired volume level? If not, perhaps that could be the problem.

I have a similar problem, but with the fan speed. Pressing auto sets fan to speed 6. I only want 2 or 3. I don’t see anything in mmi settings.
