MMI 3G navigation 6.30.1 Europe - currently 2020

2020 maps version 6.30.1 - PLEASE NOTE - this package is ONLY suitable for 3G and not 3G+/3GP so if your firmware version doesn't match the style indicated in the instructions do not bother downloading this file, as it's been cut down to make the download smaller and so it'll fit on a 32GB SD card without issues.

26.99 GB folder on MEGA

The link above includes an activator file, but if you've successfully updated in the last couple of years you shouldn't need it. Note that the activator needs to go on a seperate SD card, and shouldn't be copied with the map files.

For facelift cars with 3G+/3GP see other thread for correct links - don't muddle them up as it doesn't go well.....

Update instruction guide below - this one is a better layout than the one I produced a couple of years ago, and covers firmware updating etc

PLEASE NOTE - THESE ARE FOR EUROPE, NOT ROW OR NA and I cannot help with questions about where to find them.

I did not need to re-activate, having done so for 2018 maps. I did still get the SVM error in VCDS, which doesn't stop it working if you leave it/don't have VCDS.

I recommend using JDownloader to grab the links and WinRAR for extracting the archives when finished downloading. If you hit the download limit from Mega and don't want to pay for premium downloads I can recommend using the Opera browser, which has a built in VPN tool so all you need to do is switch location and it will allow you to continue downloading. You do lose the option to use JDownloader if you go that route.

These files are from a variety of sources, so credit due to all those who compile and make available :grin2:

Hi bud having problems with my activator, where did you get this, the files look different to the ones linked.

I did properly installed all firmware versions in order and then the maps from this link (26.99 GB folder on MEGA) correctly. All good! However, I have the same problem. I CANNOT activate. The navigation data is blocked. I formatted one of the 2 SDHC cards I got and used for the firmware and maps updates. I then put the activator files as shown in the above image in the root of the sd card. I let the car run for about 5-10 minutes. Then I stopped (Stationary vehicle). Tried loading the activator from the engineering menu. It says 'loading metainfo bla bla..' and then 'Could not read release version' or similar. This is how my sd card root looks like. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am totally stuck and don't know what to do next.

Do i have a problem because i installed frimeware from HNav_EU_P022_D1 to 0257_6? everything works great only the activator when i start the message comes out The Release info could not be read.

I complete all the steps successfully but not luck with the activator. It's been 3 days now and I see the nav screen as "NAVIAGATION DATA BLOCKED". It has and still is causing me great frustration and nervousness. Could please help out. I got the HNAV in my s5 (just to clarify). I copied the following activator files as shown below to a newly formatted sdhc card. It's not picking anything up. Not doing anything when I normally put it in after having waited for the MMI to properly initialize. Also, I tried going to the engineering menu to check whether I could activate/select from there. I tried to but when selecting 'sd1' it tries to read but says not metainfo version found or similar. Could you please help?

From memory you shouldn't need to go into engineering menu to run the activator script. Have you got the handbrake on when trying to do it? I noticed recently that you can't take a screenshot unless the handbrake is on.....

If it still isn't working, try the link in the thread below and see if that makes any difference:

It's been years since I've activated mine, as once done it doesn't need repeating using this method, so my memory is hazy to say the least!

Thanks for your quick reply mate! I really appreciate it. I did have the handbrake on and could try without it (that's not a problem).I will give that activator you pasted a shot too. This one looks like it has a '.fsc' file in it which seems hopeful. I ended up in the engineering menu out of despair really. Initially I did it the right way as I explained above. I waited till everything loads in the MMI. Then inserted the newlly formatted to fat32 sdhc card to the unit. Waited..Waited..but nothing. I will give this a try but I am not sure is the right one as I was under the impression that each activator corresponds to a specific map version. This activator looks like is the one for 3gp NOTO 3g high and in the instructions for activation it says 'Please make sure you use the activator that is right for your firmware otherwise in will break your MMI unit'. So, I am not sure that's the right one to safely try. I am really wondering how has everyone else managed to activate using this link 26.99 GB folder on MEGA. I am in a dead-end here. Obviously , don't want to end up breaking the unit completely. I ended up here trusting these instructions would work but now I am at a situation where I have no clear guidance on how to go about it since copying the above link in the root of the sd card clearly doesn't work.

I may have responded in the wrong thread, but here:

Two things to note about my successful activation:

1. I didn't use the Engineering menu to install the activator. It simply started itself once I inserted it into the card reader.
2. I thought these were the same, but the activator I used may have been the one from this thread

As noted, I thought these were the same files.
I loaded them into two different SD-cards, in case one of them didn't work, which the first one didn't.

Once I put the second card into the SD-card reader in my car, which at that point had been running for 10-15 minutes, I didn't open the Engineering menu.
What happened was simply that a dialog showed up, stating "Press any button to <something>".

When I then pressed the main button, the dialog disappeared for a bit, before saying "Installation complete" or something along those lines.
Upon starting the car again later that day, the maps were activated and worked flawlessly.

@Adrian E does this maps 6.30.1 is the latest for audi mmi 3g high ? do I need a map activator for maps 6.31.1 or did you install hi on your navigation ?

I also have managed to update firmware, and maps to 6.30.1 Europe,, but the "3GH Activator" does not initialize in engineering menu or otherwise.
There is no FSC or metainfo file as mentioned in the instruction manual.
What should I do now?
