MMI 3G navigation 6.24.2 Europe and firmware updates - currently 2017

There is unlikely to be any further firmware update for 3G from Audi so if you've updated to 0257_5 or 0257_6 you won't need to do it again.

If you don't have/can't get access to VCDS and need to activate the green menu you can use the following script from Congo's 3G+ thread [ Green menu activation ]

1. Unzip and copy to SD card.
2. Put the SD card in the MMI.
3. When prompted press the center knob.
4. After the script is done you will see confirmation screen.
5. Remove the SD card and reboot MMI

I haven't used it, but it appears plenty have :)

2017 maps version 6.24.2 and FSC activator - PLEASE NOTE - this package is ONLY suitable for 3G and not 3G+/3GP so if your firmware version doesn't match the style indicated in the instructions do not bother downloading this file, as it's been cut down to make the download smaller and so it'll fit on a 32GB SD card without issues.

There are 2 folders - 1 contains the map files and the other the activator - they need to be copied to separate SD cards.

PLEASE NOTE - THESE ARE FOR EUROPE, NOT ROW OR NA and I cannot help with questions about where to find them.

I recommend using JDownloader to grab the links and WinRAR for extracting the archives when finished downloading. If you hit the download limit from Mega and don't want to pay for premium downloads I can recommend using the Opera browser, which has a built in VPN tool so all you need to do is switch location and it will allow you to continue downloading. You do lose the option to use JDownloader if you go that route.

These files are from a variety of sources, so credit due to all those who compile and make available :grin2:

Struggling with the update

Hi all,

Spending hours on posts and re-attempting the update...to no avail.

I'm constantly getting this message on the update "The release info could not be read"

I am formatting in Fat32 (windows) - copy and paste folders within "8R0906961T - 1st". So on my SD card shows two folders "1" and "2" there is also a metainfo2 text.

Going into red engineering screen - option for SD1 and then update....

Seems simple enough but it't not working.

On 4th update, everything is selected as 'N' so the 'Start download' is greyed out??? How do I solve this please?

Issues that I had seems to be around using a micro SD card with the larger caddy. Bought a nor,al sized SD card - Sandisk Ultimate 32gb. £10 from Amazon, a small price compared to what the dealers will charge!!!

Also, I found that the maps folder was larger than the 32gb can take. So, deleted files from the root folder that were meant for the 3Gp unit (mine 3G high). After deleting these folders (about 4 in total) the maps fitted on the 32gb. - folders with '3gp' within the folder name are the ones I deleted.

All in all, £10 costs and a bit of time to sort it - plus, a bit of direction from Adrian E! Beer tokens secured.

Tried to update firmware in my A4 from 2011 with MMi 3G high from firmware HNav_EU_K0206_2_D1 to version 0253 (as has been mentioned on the first post) and which I downloaded from posted link, but during the process green screen jumped up and started the Emergency Update. It says:
MMI 3G EmApp 22.30.1642
MU9307
6/8 efs-system -> V1057
and goes through "Erase" than "Programm" and than "Check CRC" and than "file error" and process is after 60 sec. terminated


You have some idea or advice??? Please

Hi all.

Ignore the below - jumped in the car this morning, and it appears to be fine.

Amazing work everyone - very impressive stuff.

Does anyone have a list of the change log from the firmware updates - I cannot find anything online, on any of the forums, of what the actual list of improvements are on each firemware?

"Completed" the firmware and Nav updates successfully earlier today to my Audi S4 B8 2011 3G MMI high with B&O.

However, I had a little bit of an issue attempting to activate the maps.

I've followed (I think for 3G High) the instructions to the letter, but hasn't worked. I tried the FSC activator again, including unpacking the rar files again for a clean set of files.

Only key observations:

1. When I loaded the FSC file, the update file asked me to update HNav_EU_K0257_7_D1. My (and I presume anyone else's firmware from this update) will be HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1. Is this an issue?
2. When I clicked on this, I expected, from the instructions, to then be presented with a screen asking for something like "6.24.2 activator" but never got his.
3. The update then appeared to follow the same approach as the firmware updates, and rebooted (I think from memory) when finished.
4. I then skipped to the end of the instructions to activate, and tried the additional activation step of starting the car, ensuring the MMI had fully booted, inserted the SD card and waited for the MMI to automatically reboot and complete.

It didn't, and when I go to Nav, I get greyed out streets etc, and when selecting Nav-Info, I get "Sat Nav is not activated" from the Nav voice. Interestingly enough, the map still shows (haven't noticed any differences though), and it still loads anything from memory and plots the route.

Any thoughts on where I'm going wrong with the activiation?!

After updating just the firmware. My sd card won't play any music . Now the sd card is greyed out. Any ideas as to why because it played perfectly fine before

Got stuck at the first hurdle :grin2:

I've not done any updates yet, but was checking to see if i can access all the menu's. i can't access the Green Menu.

What script did you use as i've not got a full version of VCDS.

It is all one big part but separated into parts

but i have anather problem, eny time when i shoot down the car all data by mmi going reset, evrithing going like first time are instaled !!

Audi Q5 2009

Dear all,
I have updated my firmware as mentioned,
0031_3 good
0206_3 The naviagation stopt innitializing, than i decided to continue with the next update and the Nav was working again.
0253 After this version my keyless opening of the doors is no longer working
On version 0257_6 all the standard options are set on N, but the version in the display shows HNav_EU_0257_D1

At this moment;
- Keyless still not working ( Replaced battery to be sure this was not causing the issue) - After restarting the car a few times it worked again
- I am not able to run the script for the green menu Activation - Using a new SD card solved this issue

Did i do something wrong and is there a way to solve this?
