MMI 3G navigation 6.24.2 Europe and firmware updates - currently 2017

There is unlikely to be any further firmware update for 3G from Audi so if you've updated to 0257_5 or 0257_6 you won't need to do it again.

If you don't have/can't get access to VCDS and need to activate the green menu you can use the following script from Congo's 3G+ thread [ Green menu activation ]

1. Unzip and copy to SD card.
2. Put the SD card in the MMI.
3. When prompted press the center knob.
4. After the script is done you will see confirmation screen.
5. Remove the SD card and reboot MMI

I haven't used it, but it appears plenty have :)

2017 maps version 6.24.2 and FSC activator - PLEASE NOTE - this package is ONLY suitable for 3G and not 3G+/3GP so if your firmware version doesn't match the style indicated in the instructions do not bother downloading this file, as it's been cut down to make the download smaller and so it'll fit on a 32GB SD card without issues.

There are 2 folders - 1 contains the map files and the other the activator - they need to be copied to separate SD cards.

PLEASE NOTE - THESE ARE FOR EUROPE, NOT ROW OR NA and I cannot help with questions about where to find them.

I recommend using JDownloader to grab the links and WinRAR for extracting the archives when finished downloading. If you hit the download limit from Mega and don't want to pay for premium downloads I can recommend using the Opera browser, which has a built in VPN tool so all you need to do is switch location and it will allow you to continue downloading. You do lose the option to use JDownloader if you go that route.

These files are from a variety of sources, so credit due to all those who compile and make available :grin2:

Keldo's Activator is based on calculator acording wlan Mac adress? I tryed that but not working for me on 2016 maps till I found Vlasoff Activator.

I think that's your problem then. As far as I'm aware, the FSC activator hasn't been verified as working with the latest navi DB. If it were me, I'd uninstall it and use the Keldo activator script that has been confirmed as working.

Have a search around as I'm sure the FSC activator uninstaller is floating around the site somewhere.

It used to but now is completely automated and I can't see anything in the script referencing MAC addresses.

So to be clear, the Vlasoff Activator worked for both the 2016 navi DB and 2018 navi DB?

I have installed new maps without erasing old ones which were activated with Vlasoff and new maps used old Activator. After that I erased nav database and hdd partition and install fresh new maps 2018 and they stayed activated. If you erase HDD nav partition and nav database before map update then you will lose old activation Im afraid

In my case I used Keldo activator on older 6.25.3 and now erased navi database and partition and updated map only to 6.26.1. All stayed activated. Only if You change firmware then patch stop worrking

Looking at your posts over on another site, you stated that you still had a 03175 DTC present, under the 5F module, after your update. Have you managed to clear it yet?

Nope still fighting with that, but all is working fine, I mean navi, traffic, mmi so not so important for me. Last resort is to use Vcp zdf file from eu version of q5 3gp mmi but I'm not sure of result and don't want to risk specially that my mmi is converter as I imported my car from USA

Not with the Keldo activation script you won't. The Keldo script patches the firmware so will remain valid, for each and every navi DB update no matter the workflow you use, until either you change the FW version or Audi change the activation method.

I'm not sure why it didn't work for you on the 2016 navi DB but, I'm guessing there was a conflict somewhere. I used it to activate the 6.25.3 navi DB on my 3GP and it worked as expected.

Great, keep us posted as this is what's holding me off from updating my 3GP. I don't like having random DTCs lingering.

If your car is using the US MMI unit, I wonder if this is a factor for you (regardless of your FW conversion) as it doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone else. At least as far as I've read.

I dont know either why Keldo's script didnt work on 2016 db. I generated the code acording wlan Mac adress and put it in the script name instead of "xcode" and it didnt activate nothing. When I use Vlasoff it was fine immediately. Is there a new Keldo Activator or you did the same as I do?

Right, who knows all say it's totally same as eu unit but.... It's different CDMA only modem inside which works here as 2g only and although I ve changed language matrix in eeprom and firmware to eu one telit modem has different firmware from eu one and never update during firmware change, maybe here is a problem. I found right modem on aliexpress but don't want to pay 100 eur just to have 3g net in car which I use only for Google Search and online traffic, for this 2g is enough

As I mentioned, the Keldo script is automated now so no need to change any part of it. You can find the links to the installer and uninstaller here.

Out of those two, I'd use the DarkDLL script. Can't advise whether it's automated or not though as I've not used it.

I ve used Darkdll patcher its newest and the most reliable. Keldo uninstaller works on all version of Keldo patch
