Hi Adrian,

Are you able to advise if these will work for 3G Plus MMI?

Also, would you be able to advise the firmware versions that are linked so that we know whether we need to update those or not. Eg, my firmware were updated in Dec 2015, and could be the latest already.

I haven't read the attachment yet, so apologies if the answers to above are already addressed in it.

And thanks for sharing.
Map will work on 3GP, but the activator is paid for 2016.
The free version is only for 2015 (carson)

Map will fit on 32GB SD Hama formatted in FAT32

:thumbsup: Adrian E :wink2:

@Matthew Borrett
You have to put on the SD the files that are in the archive.
Usually they are 2 to 5 folders with names [1],[2],[3],[MU9307],[MU9308] and one file "metainfo2.txt". For the activator is the same but there is only one folder called FSC and one file "metainfo2.txt".
Use general purpose SD cards up to class 10, do not use Mac to white the cards. It might work for the software upgrade but it wont work for the map.
If your map version is older that 2015 reported as 8R0051884CH (6.20.4 2015) you will need to delete the NAV partition first. (Found this on the internet https://cloud.mail.ru/public/LPgx/3yppZ6MFE could help)
Keep in mind that the process will take some time. Around 1 hour for one software update.
Here is the duration's of the operations for the MAP install. Total time for the MAP ~ 3 hours, can be 2.5h if you are upgateing from 2015-2016

And you are using SD card and not dvd right. I have tried with dvd's for the firmware upgrade and can confirm that it is not working.

CD's work. Original DVD's and clones work too, but if you just write the files from the folder on DVD it is not working. At least I wasn't able to make it work and have tried more than 10 blank media's +R -R and different manufacturers:(

Could you take a picture of the version ... strange P0475 is A4/A5/Q5/Q7 ... for A6/A7/A8 should be P0485. And do you have sim slot or not?
Cheers.

I don't take money for that kind of services :) If you "brick" your mmi that's different.
From what i know about the activator for the 3GP is "Your VIN will continue to be visible and you will also be able to activate all your online entitlements as per normal."
Will send you a link from where to download the firmware (just to upload it), the update process is almost the same as for the 3G High so the Adrian's manual should work ... will try to create one for 3GP ... no one near me has 3GP so waiting.

Well it's always possible but unlikely. MMI can be bricked if the update is interrupted, if the update media is corrupted, if wrong software is used though the MMI itself checks the software first but bad things do happen once in a while. There is always a possibility of internal flash error. In 99.9% of the cases the process is flawless and the result is good.
Last week for example i had to re flash one 3G High due to modified software.

Yep.
So you have Audi A6/C7/4G S line 2011 equipped with MMI 3GP with software version HN+R_EU_AU_P0475 and MAP 5.12.5 2011 Edition MMI 3G HDD (HDD,3D,Joystick).
The update path should be K_0518 -> K_0612 -> K_0614 -> K_0770 -> K_0900
I will triple check the software before give it to you. One question ... Do you have Bose ?

Hi @jarico
You will need the following firmware updates:
• 8R0 906 961 T – HNav_EU_K0031_3_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU031) [31m]
• 8R0 906 961 AS – HNav_EU_K0206_3_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU206) [30m]
• 8R0 906 961 СС – HNav_EU_K0253_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU253) [10m]
• 8R0 906 961 DF – HNav_EU_K0257_5_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU257) [14m]
• 8R0 906 961 DQ – HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU2576) [15m]
Use the link that Adrian E posted. http://www.a5oc.com/forums/a5-general-q/111922-mmi-3g-navigation-6-a.html#post1165186
Follow the update sequence : K0031 -> K0206 -> K0253 -> K0257_5 -> K0257_6 then the MAP then the activator.
Again in the first post there is complete manual (thanks to @Adrian E). Use it, it will help you. In addition i can propose this manual for the software upgrade and errors in 5F removal https://mega.nz/#!A0IFhQgL!qwGQUkhsqJHlYxZ_9PyMu1ZeKzP-Q_F0ih3uezYtGOY
If you have any issues or questions during or after the update do not hesitate to contact me. I have joined the forum to help others hoping that some day when i need help there will be someone to help me:)

Cheers.
p.s. In the brackets you can find the SVM code needed if you have genuine VAS and the duration that the update will take.

In theory you could delete the following folders if you have MMI 3G HIGH

MMI3GP\metainfo2.txt

pkgdb\CTYS3TC
pkgdb\CTYS3TC2
pkgdb\LIT3GP
pkgdb\LIT3GP2
pkgdb\LIT3GP3
pkgdb\LIT3GP4
pkgdb\SDS3GP
pkgdb\TMC3GP
pkgdb\PSD
pkgdb\PSD2
pkgdb\MMI3GP_ECE_Hi_R_6_22_4.pkg
pkgdb\MMI3GP_ECE_Hi_R_6_22_4.pkg.sig
as these are from MMI3GP

Did you read carefully the manual from the first page?
Every firmware has to be copied on the SD separately.
You can enter in the Engineering menu by pressing simultaneously setup+return.
