Hi all. Not too sure if i am doing it wrong or if my car just doesnt like me haha. i have downloaded the update k0260 as my car is on p0206. the update is on the sd card however when I enter the engineering menu and go through the process, i get an error messgae that the release information cannot be read. any idea? Cheers

@smithers692 -- It's not too difficult to create an ISO image from the nav data posted in the thread. If you can wait another day or so, I can post an ISO image of the current (last) EUW DVD that you can burn using a double-layer DVD. --g

@DrGER Mate if you could do that it would be ace.

Also does it have to be burnt to a dvd? Would it run from an SD card?

Thank you

@smithers692 -- Look at this post: https://www.a5oc.com/threads/mmi-3g...-navigation-5-35-2-and-firmware-updates-currently-2022-2023.113473/post-1639937
The link contains the current (last) BNav DVD set contents. Download from Mega as a ZIP. Then extract the version of your choice (EUE or EUW) to an 8 GB FAT32 SD card and run the navdb from slot SD 2. --g
@DrGER awesome I'll try that. Do I run an update or anything or will it think the SD card is the dvd?

Failing that I'll but the 2018 Nav dvd and update from there.

Annoying that I have the case but no Nav DVD.

@smithers692 -- It is likely that your BNav system is expecting to find a proper FSC file for this navdb release; since you don't have one, you can try to disable navdb activation by running my nav unblocker patch script, which is based on the work-around described by Keldo in 2016: GitHub - DrGER2/MMI3G-Navdb-Unblocker: Patch MMI3G/3GP systems to unblock access to an updated navigation database. --g
@DrGER sweet I will try that.

Do I run it just like an update?

Ive flicked back through to the 2016 posts but I can't find keldo?

The patch is an SD card "script". Extract the ZIP file directly to a full size FAT32 SD card, start the MMI3G (ignition off), wait for the "nav blocked" message, insert the SD card into an open slot, follow the screen prompts, restart the MMI & go.

BTW, my Keldo reference is here: MMI3gp активаторы карт / MMI3gp map activation - Страница 24 --g

Great! thanks congo! I successfully managed to update my replacement unit (after writing eeprom) and after applying all updates and maps I also got rid of the 03157 "general communication issue", I suppose it was some firmware incompbillity between components on the MOST bus =) Went via 257, then 260 and then maps

I'd like to ask for help. I have MMI 3G basic. I have firmware K0260_1_D1. I have downloaded the latest 2023 maps to the SD card and tried to update from the old 2020 maps. After inserting the formatted card with the new maps, the car says that the 2023 map update was found and if I want to install. I select yes and after a while the system says no update device found. I also tried to do an activation before installation - FSC update which went fine. What am I doing wrong?

Gents, I need your help. I tried yesterday to update the maps to 22/23 and apparently something went wrong. It said the database was updated successfully but then it starts saying: "checking medium, please wait". Updated already couple times before and never had that issue. Despite the SD card should not be an issue I have tried more (all FAT32, uploaded on Windows only) and no luck. Firmware K0260. Also tried to do the update manually and doesn't matter whether I try standard or user defined update, always start button does nothing.
Any ideas?
Hi there, got the same issue ("checking medium, please wait"). Did you have any luck figuring out how to fix it?

If anyone have issues installing the map then this means in the past the script activator was used.
I did warned in the past that i have not tested it very well so such things are possible.
If i have a 3G basic car with that defect soon i will create a script to remove the old activator and then you can install the FSC based and enjoy the map. This is the proper way.

p.s. Looking at the archives i did created some script to remove that back in the days ... but cant remember did i test it well :) -> 704.8 KB file on MEGA

The basic idea is to restore /etc/mmelauncher.cfg to its original state.
