I have 3G high mmi on an a5 b8 running 257_6 firmware now. I had to remove cty and lit files to fit on the SD card as max is 32gb in my car but won’t install. Starts but fails. Should I be using 6.32 instead?

@Sparklehedgehog -- This thread is for 3GP/3G+ systems, hence, the discussion is directed toward installing nav updates on such. Look over here for discussion directed toward your HNav system: MMI 3G navigation 6.30.1 Europe - currently 2020 --g
I appreciate that but there’s loads of people in the final 2-3 pages saying they’ve loaded 6.35.1 so I wondered if it ‘‘twas this one or another from somewhere else I can’t find?

Thanks for getting back to me and posting these links, most help I’ve had on this issue! I’m just unsure which model RMC it is, some say RMC2 / RMC4 is there a warning if the wrong firmware is trying to be loaded onto the unit?

See my comment to Sparklehedgehog in post #1,423, above. This applies to you, too. --g

Hello everyone! 1st i want to thank @congo and anyone who is helping us here! Appriciate that ! Since a few days I am an owner of A6 C7 Avant equipped with MMi 3G Plus and Bose Sound system. So my current Media version and Map versions are : HN+R_EU_AU_P0485 map - 8R0060884N ECE 5.12.5 . Please correct me if that i need HN+R_EU_AU_K0942_4 ( can I go straight to it ? ) firmware and 8R0060884KB ECE 6.35.1 maps or need something else ? Also I saw that unzipped the maps are 37,2 GB , so should I use 64 GB SD card formatted in FAT32 via 3rd party or should remove some folders to fit in 32 GB SD CARD (which is safer and better ?) Thanks to all in advance! Best regards !

Hello guys,
Ive experienced a problem regarding with Park assist after the update to K0942.
If i switch the gear to R the car model on the middle is not showing up for some reason and the 3 rear sensors from left are beeping for close obstacle and theres nothing.
Is there a chance that something went wrong with the update and should i give it a try with the latest firmware update?
Audi A6 C7 2012 btw.
Thank you.

Alex07 kindly suggested I reach out to DrGER, and I must preface this by saying I’m somewhat clueless however, I have a 2016 Audi 8 and my mmi is HN+R_US_AU_P0925

I’m trying to introduce CarPlay, do I have any options at all?

Many thanks

Maybe better to start a new thread on this topic, as it is not related directly to the topic of Euro region nav database updates.

But to answer your specific question: No OE/VAG CarPlay solutions for our MMI3G systems, though aftermarket solutions are available that can be added. I helped @VegasA5 recently to configure analog audio in to his retrofitted 3G+ system. He might offer some observations on his aftermarket CarPlay experience. --g

Hi, I'm trying to update the maps on my 2013 Audi A6 with MMI 3G+. The car is originally from Korea, but I live in Finland so I want to change the region to EU. The firmware I was able to update just fine to K0900. I followed some instructions I found on this page: AudiEnthusiasts Master. However I haven't been able to update the maps.

The problem is that whether I use standard or user defined mode and have selected the "ignore region and variant" box from the green menu, all the files on the list say "N/A". I'm also not able to check the application boxes manually in the user defined mode. Nothing happens when I try to, the check mark simply does not appear. Any ideas?

The original firmware also wouldn't read SD cards larger than 2GB no matter how I formatted them. It would always say "medium is currently unavailable". For anyone battling this problem, make sure to use a 2GB card ONLY! After the firmware updates, larger cards work fine.

HEADS UP - ALERT - WARNING

There appear to be issues in some circumstances with the 6.35.1 maps, at least for HN+ systems! I've spent two weeks trying to get past a 'Navigation being initialised - please wait'. Even with @DrGER's help, I couldn't get it to work. Recovery to 6.33.1 maps in User Defined mode was immediate - maps returned straight away.

Hi ! I want to say that i also have that issue and to share my experience. Thanks to congo and everyone included i've been updating my own maps since 6.33.1 2021-2022 maps, so not doing it for the first time i prepared 6.35.1 and started the install. After installing it would load to 45% and then just stuck on Please wait, initializing forever. I googled it and every forum post i read said that the hard drive might be gone. So just to be sure i deleted nav database, then nav partition. Reinstalled K0942,and reinstalled 6.33.1 and to my suprise thinking my hard drive failed IT WORKED. So today just to make sure it was the maps not my hard drive i redeleted the nav database and partition and installed 6.35.1, same issue. I redeleted navdatabase and parititon and installed 6.34.1, and everything is working as it should. So to conclusion everyone before thinking it's your hard drive it may be just your maps. Thanks !
