Mistake not adding xenons!

Hi guys, ive made a mistake when i order my A5 3.0 Tdi sport until tonight i found out i dont have xenons. Ive got mislead by the brochure ( Xenons Plus headlights and LED daytime running lights (standard on 6 Cylinder and above models) , what it means the DRL are standard, Silly me!

, the salesman should have told me. So does that mean if i want xenons i need get 2 new headlamp unit??

Thats what sucks about the UK too many choices. Though at least you get a TDI model. LUCKY!!!!!! I'll trade cars with you!!!

Mine arrives in October. Oh and can you move everything inside the car to the left side.

I think you should be able to by them. Search the forum for European Headlights. They cost around $1200

I believe he will still need the ballasts to do the conversion....

That's right Sizzle, assuming he buys from other than Audi...although they'd sell the ballasts as extra anyway...

He could by the Euro specs from a place like MadAudi, the source the ballasts from Audi I guess..

No need to worry! You have ordered a 3.0TDi V6, xenons and DRLs are standard on this car in the UK.

Controller and voltage converter for the Xenon bulbs. On OEM units its build in the headlight housing. They're about the size of a pack of cards.

Bad news spoke 2 dealer they say it cant b retro fit because u need new a bumper with the washer unit, so it will be very costly. May be they is after market conversions.

Err.... I have a 3.0 TDI and Xenons and DRLs both came as standard... Has the UK spec changed in the last few months?

I thought in the UK only the 1.8T DOES NOT come with Xenons and DRLS as standard, all other models do?

Xenons not standard on A5 models only on the S5 but the DRL are standard if its 6 cylinder.

I can assure you 100% that the 3.0TDi DOES come with xenons and DRLs as standard. Go to the audi configurator on their website and spec one up. The xenons option is automatically selected. It also clearly states that they are in the brochure.

I know my car (which was built last week

) has them!

You cant have DRLs without ordering xenons, dont worry, you do have xenons

Actually, you were right the first time.
Xenon lights are standard on all UK spec. 6 cylinder models
Xenon plus (which follow the steering direction) are an option

From the spec guide:

Xenon headlights including LED daytime-driving
lights, headlight washer system and automatic
range adjustment (6-cylinder and above models only)

Xenon plus (xenon beam on dipped and full beam) are standard, ADAPTIVE lights (which turn with the steering direction) are optional.

Thanks for that Withnail, I hadn't realised that the xenons included washers-excellent!

You right Booster and Robb , i've just rang the dealer, he said i definateley got it. Also i went outside 2 check again he said u should see the washer unit on the front bumper. May its just me bc i had BMW with Xenons but they seem 2 be lot brighter. Is it bc the DRL , they have tone down the xenons brightness?

Had a A4 (2005) before and I can tell you the A4 xenons are brighter than my A5.
