Ciao, quello relativo allo sblocco delle mappe.... e poi inserendoli
exactly, the file of the poi are inserted in the second SD port, also see if you have downloaded the file correctly. with this update done in 2035, also a friend of mine has problems on Audi A3, you have to see in the red menu if they are enabled.

Hello and thanks for the answers, I'm sure the file is correct and I'm putting it in slot 2. I can ask you how I can check in the red menu if POIs are enabled. Let me make a premise, when I took the car they were already there and can still be seen on the 2024 map that I inserted, but they date back to a few years ago, and so I wanted to update them.

Good evening, I would like to update the software of my Audi A4, currently I have the MHS2_ER AU_P1240, the correct file to use is MHS2_ER AU_P1242? Right? Thanks and have a good evening
yes (please only update the fw if you mean your actual are not good or buggy, the activator need no fw update, because its working on all MHS2 fw)

My advice: Don't bother with it if you don't have any problems with your current FW.

Hi friends sorry I have a problem I need to recover a Mib2 unit of an Audi A3 8v MHS2_ER_AU_P0463 blocked by a friend of mine while he wanted to unlock the Carplay end Android Auto function, I know there is a procedure with a USB adapter FT232RL that I fortunately have in the drawer, would any of you be willing to tell me how to do it. Thanks to everyone

Hello Congo,
I hope you're doing well.
I recently bought a 2017 Audi A3 8V, and I’m experiencing an issue with the MMI (MHS2_ER_AU_P1240). I can connect my phone via Bluetooth and play music without any problems, but I cannot use the hands-free feature or read messages. It worked for one day, but since then, I haven't been able to get it working again. I’ve already tried a factory reset, but it didn’t help.
After some research, I found out that a firmware update to MHS2_ER_AU_P2035 might solve this issue. I don’t really care about navigation maps, and I have no intention of activating Android Auto or Wireless CarPlay, since my car only has a USB charging-only port in the armrest.
I’m not very familiar with cars and MMI systems, but I do have extensive knowledge of Linux and Unix-based systems, so I believe I can handle the update process with the right guidance.
I’d like to ask:
  1. Could updating from MHS2_ER_AU_P1240 to MHS2_ER_AU_P2035 fix my Bluetooth hands-free issue?
  2. Do I need to use any kind of activation method for this update, or can I simply copy the firmware to an SD card and install it from the Red Engineering Menu?
Thank you very much for your time and help!

Good morning,

First of all, thank you for your quick response Alex-07.
I'm having a little trouble understanding your last sentence.

Why install the congo activator after updating the firmware?

is this really necessary?

THANKS.
its needed if you have not the 2024 maps today working or the other FEC´s arent activated/legal,
I mean if you dont need all FEC activated/legal, then no activator installation needed,
nothing else I mean.

Thank you for your details and the quick response, it's really appreciated.

I'm simply going to test a firmware update as you mentioned to me without installing the Congo activator afterwards because I don't need the 2024 cards to modify anything.

I just hope this solves my bluetooth problem. Which is quite curious.

I will come back here to say if this solved my problem or not.

Have a nice day thank you

Hi all,

I just bought an Audi Q2 (2019) that has MHS2_ER_AU_P2035 MMI.
Currently there is no Apple Carplay/Android Auto option and I would like to include it. The USB hub is charge only.

As I read previously in this thread is that I should run the MHS2 activator by Congo to update the current maps and enable/unlock Apple Carplay and Android Auto functionality. When that is done I should replace the USB hub with an hub that has a smartphone interface.

Is this assumption correct?

I have a couple of more questions:
1) Can I skip the USB hub and install a carlinkit 4.0 for wireless use only? Or is it necessary to replace the usb hub?
2) What are the pros/cons of this solution versus a 'plain' carplay box that extends the basic functionality with a seperate mode to use Apple Carplay and Android Auto? The cost for a module like this is around 400 euros.

Thanks in advance.
