Max Rockatansky Audi S5 V8

Hi everyone! I have been a reader of this forum for long time and I finally decided to join :)

I have found a lot of useful info here and great inspiration too (I have read twice all 44 pages of Cuppa's awesome built :)). I am the owner of an Audi S5 V8 (not a S8, the title is a typo!) and in the following months I'm going to customize it with several mods: Rieger rear valance, RS honeycomb front grille, Capristo exaust, 20" OZ-Racing rims, custom red/black leather on front seats and other small aesthetichs mods.

The work begins tomorrow (installation of rear valance, front grille and red brake calipers); in the meantime, some of photos of the stock car.

As you can imagine from my name, I am a bit a fan of Mad Max, so while waiting for the serious stuff, the very first 'mod' that I did was mounting a custom made replica of Nux bobblehead from Mad Max Fury Road (you can see it in this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr6wdTPGFmI ) .

The original from the movie:

My replica:

In the next days I'm going to post more juicy mods :)

Welcome Max. Very nice ride and mod selection. Nice to see that Quattro earning its pay.
Thank you! Quattro did very well on snow, but not so well on ice... I need studded tires ;-)

That's a beautiful pic

Shouldn't you have an XB Falcon then? :wink2: Those classic muscle cars are totally in vogue. Judging from the snow I guess you're not in Australia and maybe those classic Falcons are harder to come by elsewhere in the world.
Nice car and great pics!
Where ya based?
Any Mad Max fan is more than welcome, Max! trancer's right - you should definitely have one of these:

Mind you, it'd be complete rubbish in the snow!

I guess that I'm not mad enough for the Falcon XB :) I really like that car and I have seen some fantastic replica builds, but I need something more practical.

Where ya based?
Europe (English is not my native language, so apologies for the grammar errors and horrors that I make!)

Today I have left the S5 to my favourite garage, it will be back in four days with the new grille and valance, can't wait!

In the meantime I'm going to "drive" around in my fat bike :)

Another very little mod that I did was replacing the old, worn carpets with new 'Audi Exclusive' ones:

One last snowy pic of the stock car, new photos in the following days as soon as the car is back!

The car is back! I am really happy from these mods, the RS5 grille is way better than the S5 one and the Rieger rear valance is nicer, more aggressive (for my personal taste :))

This is the front (there is still some work to do: I want to replace the side grills with honeycomb grills, and I'm going to change the "line" under the grill from chrome to metallic red)

And this is the back, with the Rieger diffuser. With this diffuser the tail pipes are sligtly too recessed for my personal tastes, but this will be fixed in a couple of weeks, as soon as I'll mount the Capristo exaust that has longer tail pipes.

The brake calipers have been painted in red:

(yes, I need to clean my rims!)

...and red valve caps:

Yesterday I received the Audi A5 facelift gear knob, so I removed the old crappy knob of the S5:

and I replaced it with the new knob...it is light years better, I love the look and it feels so much better in hand! It was an easy, five minutes swap, it fits directly so there is no need for the risky 'heat and twist' procedure.

More mods are coming next week :)

Next mod: some wrapping on the front side! This is a simulation created with Photoshop of what I plan to do this week:

I am thinking of wrapping the chrome area around the gear knob, too... for my tastes it is a bit too shiny ;-) I may wrap it either in carbon fiber:

or grossy black:

As soon as the work is done I'll post the real photo :)

While I am still waiting for the wrap, the shift paddle extensions have arrived :) I had seen these on masuurik build page and I loved them, so I quickly bought them on Ebay... I have mounted them this morning, they look great!

They really do look great and in the dark, they will make view abit more expensive imo. Try to use flat steeringwheel, you will get supercool feeling then:)
Thanks for the suggestions! I like the flat bottom steering wheel, but I don't plan to get it soon... maybe next year when I have finished the other mods :)

Mod of the day: I swapped the old, gray, sad pedals with the shiny chrome pedals of the RS5 :)

From this:

To this:

It is a bit more difficult than what it looks - it took me about half an hour... I have published a small how to guide here: http://www.a5oc.com/forums/s5-performance-mods/133650-guide-how-swap-s5.html
