Sorry for the newbie question. But i wanted to know if you were to lower your car using the h&r lowering springs only by 1 inch. Would that mean that your struts will blow in about a year?

I have heard this many times but just needed clarification.

On another note, would it make more sense to just get coilovers if you are worried about blowing your struts? since the unit has springs as well as struts?

please advise.

No way will it happen in a year, especially with the less aggressive 1" spring. However, you are definitely working your struts out of unison and they will wear quicker. I hear 20-30,000 miles is a good life expectancy on the 1.3" drop, so the 1" drop, should be a bit longer.

Personally, if you have any worry, just get coilovers. I will have a H&R set for sale for 1/2 price in about 2 weeks if you wanna wait that long....

i can wait that long. What are you going to replace them with? how many miles on the coilovers?
