I brought my 2018 RS5 from France this year. I had a huge problem getting it through MOT. First the rear fog light needed to be swapped to the right hand side. This took 4 visits to Audi and 2 new rear lights. Finally got this done through determined efforts to get the coding from Audi Germany. Then the saga began with the head lights! You can buy new headlights for RHD drive cars but Audi Germany REFUSED to provide the necessary codes to the Audi certified workshop to allow these to be fitted. After much searching I finally found an excellent VAG experienced coder who with great convenience and with an exceptional service and low cost, modified the codes which meant the car passed the MOT. This whole sage took over 7 months and finally I can get my car register in the UK. Happy to provide the details of the VAG expert to anyone who needs this in Wales

Hi mate if you need any coding or retrofitting help I highly highly recommend Audi retrofits in slough, london, he’s very well know here in UK and can honestly do anything you want on a Audi, guy is a magician… if you don’t trust just to let you know Audi themselves give cars to him when they can’t get cars with customer preferred specs options they give him the cars and he retrofits them for Audi themselves… if that’s not a good sign then I don’t know what it… you can find him on instagrams Audiretrofits

Do you travel often to Europe then? Seems a lot of hassle you went through to get a LHD car fitted with RHD lights!?

The B8.5 hasrear fogs on both sides and I think they can be coded so one side or both lights up. But not sure on the B9.

Things like this are pointless with dealers, they generally don't have a clue, well that's my experience anyway. My Audi dealer messed up my cooling system after a recall, blamed it on a non existant fault and wanted to charge me £600 to fix, which wasn't there before I took the car in. Didn't have a clue on how to setup Audi connect and just said my model doesn't have it, but it is there in the MMI. Some of the staff were rude and tried to say I hadn't paid for a service when it was their fault and an issue with the card machine. Never been back since.

Always best to find a specialist or someone that knows what they're doing, saves a lot of time and money.

Blimey, and they wonder why we refer to them as "stealers". Nice to get money for giving CRAP service. Seem to be the same everywhere. Thank heaven for the good independents.
