Hi all, so I've owned my 2009 2.0L A5 diesel coupe, S-Line, Quattro in black since June 2016 and figured I should start my evolution thread to track the progress.

She was / is completely standard when I bought her so first thing was to give her a good clean and take some pics...

Since these were taken I've fitted stick on number plates to loose the screw caps and added some ice white number plate bulbs.

More exciting mods to come...:grin2:

Thanks for looking.

Mods so far

External / Styling

Stuck on number plates to remove unsightly screw caps.
Ice white number plate bulbs.
Dark smoke window tints.
12mm Eibach spacers (rear only).

Performance / handling
DTUK CRDT tuning box.
Powerflex transmission insert.
Pipercross panel air filter.

So I mentioned in other posts that my drivers window had dropped slightly causing annoying wind noise, and worse still it was no longer water tight. After managing to get a genuine regulator for around £240, I found an Audi specialist that would fit it far £80, however in the meantime I was offered an aftermarket regulator for £40 so figured why not try it. Car went in Saturday for the work to be done, mechanic rings me up and tells that the car has recently been fitted with a genuine reg but not aligned properly, so he realigned it meaning I could return the other reg. So I've gone for a chunky bill to an £80 repair bill. Happy days. :grin2:

I've also purchased a powerflex transmission insert from Smee which I'll fit this weekend (thanks again Lee).

I couldn't resist a cheeky performance upgrade too which I'll hopefully be fitting at the weekend too, more to follow. :autofahrer:

Nothing like bill avoidance to put a smile on your face.... :)

where is the evolution of it?
This past weekend I installed the powerflex transmission insert, the car seems to have developed quite a vibration when idling now, not sure I'm liking it.

Also I purchased a tuning box from DTUK and fitted that on Saturday as I felt the 2.0L diesel lump needed a little encouragement. The box claims a gain to between 215 and 225bhp with a chunky hike in torque too. Just playing about with the different settings now to get the result I'm after, supposed to be seeing a slight increase of the mpg too.

Problem now is, as I've itched the performance modding monkey, I'm looking for other ways to improve the drivability. 0:)
Not much has happened with the Audi for a while, the main thing was the repair when she had a bit of a wobble last month, but now the other car is sold and I have some expendable pennies to start putting towards the A5.

Alloys are still on the list, but tomorrow I'm hopefully taking a trip to a Revo dealer for some little bits, while there I'll be inquiring about tuning options available 0:) having quite an impulsive side at times, who knows where tomorrow could lead :grin2:

Going to get rear tints done very soon too.
Go, Lashed, go! Impulsive is good!
Window tints getting done early next month
Good start Lashed we want more!!!
There's more to come don't worry, new alloys are a must and I'm very tempted to get a flat bottom steering wheel to upgrade the interior. The modding bug has definitely bitten 0:)
Never fear, Lashed - the pain goes away after the first couple of grand...
Haha! I have noticed that modifying an Audi is not a cheap hobby, but then you get what you pay for I suppose.

I did get an insurance quote for an S5 yesterday just for a giggle, it was only slightly more than I'm paying for the diesel! :surprise: Must resist! :wall:
We are Borg. Resistance is futile.
:help:
Cars looking great Lashed!

Any more opinions on the transmission insert? I've got mine yet to fit. Reading mixed responses about it!

When it was first fitted, the top mount was pressing on the underside of the transaxle which gave the car a huge vibration issue, it was pretty horrendous! So removed the top section leaving the lower main part in place and it seemed to have stiffened up the gears a little.

If you're running a Quattro I'd suggest leaving the top part off, 2wd you should be fine. Definitely worth fitting as it only takes 30 minutes.
Thursday 3rd August is tint day :banana_1:
Whatever you do, make sure they cover the amp in the boot.

Company who did mine didn't............. :crying:
3 days to tint day!

Just ordered a new upgraded steering wheel. Going to be a long few weeks wait now! :surprise:
