Anyone know anything about this stuff. Ive seen the website but anyone know what spec you need to have to be able to add Tv or various other stuff offered. Also I dont understand what the gadget is that plugs into diagnostic socket and is removed a few seconds and this then alllows you to watch tv?

Hi Mic,

There are a number of posts that talk about Kufatec adds (use search and the keyword "kufatec") but none that go over specifics regarding the video add-ons.

It seems a little strange to me, but I am no expert...maybe another euro-member has used them and can speak to the video question.

That little TV gadget is nothing more than a recoding unit designed to remove the speed-limit from the Audi TV module. You can do the same with VAG COM I believe (see http://www.geocities.com/a6retrofit/articles/a5vagcodes.html). Normally it turns the picture off when you start driving. The gadget will change that. It will not magically add TV to your car if you don't have the TV module.

Most Kufatec retrofits should be pretty much the same for A5 and A6, so you can use this mk's great site as a starting point in general: http://www.geocities.com/a6retrofit/index.html

The TV module requires the "real" MMI, i.e. the one that comes with navigation. Read here about that (http://www.geocities.com/a6retrofit/articles/a4a5realmmi.html). I was figuring that was what it did but there is one for €200 and one for €2000. Who would pay €2000 for this and what does it do over the 200 one?

Isn't the cheaper one to enable just one car and the pricier one a solution for professionals who want to "do" more than one car?
