Does anyone know if there's a way to keep the power running through the 12v sockets when the engine is turned off?

It's probably my own fault for being a miser and not investing in the integrated sat nav etc but it's frustrating that my phone, PDA etc stop charging when the engine is off. I can understand that this may be there to stop devices draining the battery but my previous Audi didn't do this.

Had this issue with the 12v socket in the boot on wifes A3. Find a good car electrician/towbar specialist and they will generally sort you out. It is a case of a either a simple rewire to a permanent live or refixing the 12v feed from the fusebox to a perm live (or so I am told!!)

An auto electrician would be able to do it for you. Not sure, but anyone reckon there might be an option on the VAGCOM for a constant live to the 12V sockets?
