using Ed's wifi and waiting for my car after having Milltek and BMC filter fitted... getting map checked and tweaked if required ;) will see how it all goes on saturday at Audi Driver International :)

Well driven the car back to the office and obvious difference is the sweetness of the Milltek, not boomy and not offensive :) difficult to say if the BMC filter is doing anything, it fits inside the oem airbox so wont suffer heat soak that exposed solutions often do... also very stealthy as a result....

Loving the noise, just need a big tunnel to drive thru now:D

Having the BMC fitted Friday (fingers crossed work-wise) and the map checked and tweaked as necessary... so with already having the Milltek, I'll be able to report on any noticeable difference.

PS... if you drive up the A14 to rothwell, there's a single-lane concrete tunnel under the A14 to the service station slip road. You can stop in there rev it a bit and then launch it! ... It's like car porn!

Panic not :eek:

it's just a bit louder in total, but (subjectively) increases the difference between stock and Milltek by 25% from outside the car. Just a small amount in real term, but just right... it's just perfect. :D

What tweaks to the map are you referring to? Has APS made some modifications?

just checking the car is not leaning out at higher revs with more air getting into the engine... no tweaks required after some data logging....

Really tricky to say, I was planning to do some before and after data logging with vagcom but I have lent my cable to a buddy. The filter arrived and I happened to be at APS so had them fit it. It was not essential toget them to fit by the way, its a very straight forward plug n play solution and simply allows more air through than a standard oem filter, also as its still housed in the oem unit you cant see it....

I think if I had been able to log something, all I would have been able to see is that the engine is now working a little more effectively at higher revs, meaning that it should pull a little better all the way to the limiter and should be a little more responsive.... as for bhp gains if its just 3-5 you really wont notice that with your 'arse dyno' :rolleyes:

Having the Milltek done at the same time has not helped as the car noise has changed alot with that so its tricky to tell if the BMC had made any difference to engine noise...

When Ian has his done later he might be able to say as he has lived with the Milltek for a while and might be able to notice something if its there...

Sorry cant be any more helpfull or informative.. a good buddy of mine still has a stock S5 so I will see if I can do some instant noise comparisons although there are a couple on youtube..
