Hi All, I recently bought a 2010 A5 TFSI .2.0 DSG 7 speed with just 81k Km on the clock always serviced at Audi is excellent condition. After few months I felt some jerking when taking off normally around 2-3 gears at lower revs. I started reading the forums and found many people have having such issues. Through the journey of trying to work out whats happening I learned that you could reset the transmission and this helped some people. I tried it it seemed to help but before long I had the jerking return.
Reset Audi ECU / Transmission
- Press the gas pedal to the floor.
- Turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. ...
- Keep the gas pedal pressed for at least 15 seconds.
- Turn off the ignition. ...
- Drive your Audi carefully and allow it to change gears at low RPM for the first 10 minutes
Then I read that if your transmission oil has not been changed reguarly it can cause Jerking so I changed the oil it had not been done in a while so it was due. But the Car still jerked on take off.
I then read that it could be to do with the MAF so I had a look at it

I have not removed the MAF senor and cleaned it but I did put electrical tape around the hose and the connector and its made a huge difference. The jerking has stopped. About a week later I also installed Audi A4 S4 A5 S5 VW Transmission Mount Insert Bush B8 Aluminum Dog Bone. That has made the transmission even better. I do plan to removed the MAF senor and cleanit just waiting for some sockets to arrive. and hope it improve perfromance further.
