Don't think I ever really introduced myself on here - I'm Jeebsy from Glasgow, Scotland.

I had a B7 A4 Avant 2.0 TDI which I needed to cart about my mobile coffee stall, but we ended up getting a wee shop so I didn't need the wagon any more. I'd always fancied an A5 and thought they'd be well out my price range, but I had a look on AutoTrader one day and was surprised how much the 2008s were going for.

There was a nice example for sale in Belfast - good spec, with an RS5 grill, Milltek exhaust and a remap and only 64k on the clock so I sold the wagon, juggled some stuff about and jumped on the ferry:

First thing to do was get the 20s on the night I got back:

So far I've done:

Machine polish

Facelight LED rear light upgrade, LED rear number plate lights, LED reverse lights

Honeycomb fog grill surrounds

Front speaker upgrade, 12" sub+amp in the rear

FL flat bottom steering wheel

RS5 interior door handles

R8 oil cap

Carbon fibre wing mirror caps

Wrapped the dash trims in satin black

Stainless pedal set

Replaced faulty air quality sensor which was causing a few error codes
Dynamic wing mirror indicators
Hardrace rear ARB
Replaced advanced key sensors
Eibach pro lowering springs
15mm spacers all round
S Line side skirts
S Line front and rear bumpers
Transmission mount insert
LED front fogs
Wrapped the window trim in satin black
Changed gear knob to perforated leather

Stuff on the do list:
I've got three glow plugs which need replaced - the car still runs fine but the mechanic said they're stuck pretty tight so might be a longer job than usual
Paint brake calipers
Wrap the grill - it's peeling badly in a couple of places

Currently swapping the window/boot switch to the chrome tipped ones and swapping the plastic door arm rests for leather:

Will get some fresh pics soon now the new rear bumper is on. It came with a couple of broken fixing points so had to transplant the support from the old bumper onto the new one:

Very nice mate. No messing about here!
How did you go about doing the steering wheel swap? I heard its not as simple as plug and play when swapping the rectangle(ish) airbah wheel for a circular airbag wheel

Cheers - the wheel is a straight swap so long as the new wheels has to long mode button on the left hand side. The round airbag looks a lot more modern and really improves the cabin I think.

Lol was thinking the same as haroon, no messing around getting all the mods done! Cars looking sweet though, how long you had her?
Im in the process of getting the same rear LEDs as you just waiting on the harness, easy swap?
Also did you get the RS handles on back order from audi? if so how long did it take them to come in.

Got it at the end of April so coming up to for a year! I'm pretty impatient so once I decide to do something it's gotta get done quick.

Got the RS handles from my local Arnold Clark who are VAG parts distributors, they came next day. I put them on a few weeks ago and they didn't mention any stock issues, are you waiting on some?

Got a few things scratched off the list recently:

Did my calipers in graphite - wasn't sure what colour to go for. They weren't actually too bad when prepped:

Gave the wheels a full clean and wax with the Angelwax suite - Bilberry, fallout remover, tar remover, then wheel wax

Vinyl wrapped my grill - it was really tatty and had a couple of big sections of paint missing:

I had some carbon wrap lying about which I wasn't sure about as it might look cheesy, but it's pretty subtle and I think it actually looks pretty cool:

Leather armrests are in, and also did the alu tipped switches while I had the cards off:

Got new matts too, don't have pics but pretty happy with how things are looking now.

Got a private plate to disguise the fact the car is getting on a bit now - swapped it over on Monday. Really happy with how it looks. Only scunner is the rear plate holder had about a million holes drilled in for it so going in for boot repair/respray in a week's time.

Met as RS5 at the gym after - dunno where their front plate was though ?

Just wow. Great work, great car.

Can you give a feedback for the transmission mount inser - which one did you get and how does it cope with the 3.0 TDI and the Stronic?

Looking into the Darkside Developments (CNC) one - https://www.darksidedevelopments.co...mount-insert-for-audi-b8-platform-models.html

Any thoughts appreciated.
I got a generic billet one from eBay - it was about £15 I think. Mine is a manual so not sure how it would perform in an Stronic, and I don't have massive experience driving other cars to compare, but it feels tighter when shifting.

About a month ago my DPF wouldn't regen even though the app was saying it was ready for one, then I started getting the flashing glow plugs and limp mode. Codes were P200200 and P047100:

Took it up to DH Automotive for a check over - they replaced the G450 sensor and forced a regen, everything seems to be good now.

Spoiler is on and painted - thought it looked shit at first and was tempted to take it straight back off but it's grown on me a lot now.

Looking great- I had the exact same issue with the DPF errors & limp mode and I also changed the G450 sensor (they are renowned for this) and did a forced regen - no further issues 2 years on.. (y)
