So, those with the nav systems get to see the surround option and alter to taste but those without cannot?
My biggest regret to Blackjack not fitting Sat Nav + (DOH!!)S4toA5, thanks for the information. I really hope this is not the case as this means there are no settings to change the sound focus to driver, rear, etc (other than messing around with balance and fader).
If this is true then it is yet another unwelcome consequence of not choosing Sat Nav that are not documented anywhere.![]()
I have that setting S4 to A5 thanks for all your help I'll let you no if I have it set up properly & we'll see how it sounds I mean HEAR!! Regard GolfdeekoSorry to disappoint you all with B&O system and no navigation, but this was the information I got from B&O. The good thing is that B&O claims that the sound performance is exactly the same in both systems, it is just the menu that is a bit different. So, the only setting available for us without the navigation is to turn on or off the DSP premium, i.e. the B&O surround sound. I have confirmed this on other cars without the navigation system as well.
Another thing that perhaps not all are familiar with is that the surround is only available when listening to CD or SD-card, i.e. it isn’t available when listening to radio. The reason for this I don’t know and I don’t really see the point of this difference.
Also works with the iPod through the AMI - really noticeable difference using the surround as well, as does changing the focus between "Driver", "Front" and "All". Personally I prefer the "All" setting rather than "Driver" or "Front", but guess it's a personal thing.Sorry to disappoint you all with B&O system and no navigation, but this was the information I got from B&O. Ever hear "Climbatize" by The Prodigy? That'll test a system!
MOST (bus), or Media Oriented Systems Transport is the new automotive standard for media and infotainment... hence the interfacing etc.cars with navigation systems use MOST data buses while cars without use CAN-buses. However, they claim that the sound should be equally good in both types of cars (of course…) even though the possible settings in the MMI differ.
Hope this helps!
Anyone else got specific tracks that they think really "show off" or "test" their sound systems?Ever hear "Climbatize" by The Prodigy? That'll test a system!
I have the standard audio and Sat/Nav and confirm that I have a similar DSP menu item except it obviously doesn't say B&O.Attached are a couple of pics of the B&O options and sound options for those with Nav and B&O.
If someone without Nav can post pics of their sound options then at least we can verify any differences.
