I just got my new A5 about a week and a half ago and the dealer was out of the adapter cables for the IPod. I have the technology package and Ipod connection in the glovebox and was told by the dealer that allowed full functionality of the IPod through MMI. I said, no sweat, I'll pick up a cable elsewhere....get there and they tell me that's not true and that I need something called Nav-TV (an $850 cost for product + install) for full functionality through MMI.

Does anyone know...?

Where are you located? Please update your profile to reflect your location. (This will help others in providing answers to your questions, since specs tend to vary based upon what country the car was made for.)

Assuming you are in the US, do you have the Navigation Plus option? That option includes AMI (Audi Music Interface). If you have Nav, then you should be fine. Otherwise, take a look at the following threads on the topic:

Thanks...just updated. Yep, I'm in the US (cali) and have the Navi you mentioned so sounds like i just need to get the part. Thanks for the input...will get the cable once I get my MMI back up and running from the tint job!:(
