So while working on my Audi s5 v8 my dad accidentally broke a hose that connects to the intake hose. Horrible stuff, I had to push the car into the garage so I don’t cause anymore damage. Right now I don’t know if the I need to replace the whole hose or the pipe itself. If anyone has some insight on this pls let me know

Want to show us the broken end, what year the car is, what engine, petrol or diesel, which model?

a picture of just the intake pipe without further details is quite hard to “help”.

a picture of the broken off piece too with the accompanying sensor would let us genuinely help you along with the above mentioned.

That's just a breather pipe that goes to the vacuum pipes etc. You can still drive, it will be fine! The pipe just takes filtered air from the inlet. :)

Just glue the elbow back on.

I have the 3.0T V6 and this small pipe just pulls out of the intake hose. You could just get a plastic elbow from your local car or home depot and glue it in. Not a detrimental part, but long term it is best the pipe takes filter air from the intake pipe. You'll be fine driving to the stor to get a little plastic elbow! :)

oh thank god i forsure thought i was screwed, this Audi has given me plenty of headaches.I was thinking about gluing it but the piece that broke off fell into another realm where all the 10mm screws are. I was thinking about using a vacuum hose connector to maybe reconnect it again
