Hi,

I have noticed some leakage/seepage where the HPFP is bolted onto the vacuum pump. The car has 110K miles.

1) Do you think it's worth it to try replacing the o-ring? or should I just replace the whole thing? ($8 vs $200+)

2) What is the size of the tripple square bolt? My socket won't fit without taking off the PCV.

Thanks!

Alex

Alex mate no idea sorry but if it is high pressure then maybe better to fit a new pump directly???

Yes, ideally I would replace the pump with a brand new genuine Audi part. But if I can just replace the o-ring for $8 instead of spending $200 - $300, then I would like that better.

I can't find any agreement on how long these pumps usually last. If it's a common problem, I would expect to see a lot more posts asking about it, like the PCV valve or the water pump. But I haven't found many posts about it.
