Hi guys hope everyone is safe and well,

My A5 Cabriolet has developed the dreaded "fabric roof peeling off the rear window" issue! Everyone is advising that a hood replacement is the way to go.
It simply isnt worth the many £1000s Audi wants to charge me, so I am reduced in finding one from the breakers yards!
However, my roof is the higher end "acoustic" version. How can I tell if a second hand one is an "Acoustic" model?
I have no part numbers and if i did I would not know where on the hoods to look for it!
Any help is appreciated

Many thanks

What year is your A5? I've never heard of a higher-end "Acoustic" convertible model.

Mines an acoustic hood - its a 63 plate. Some more detail on hoods here;

and see the note on your sticker here:

Personally, I'd try to find a shop that specialises in convertible hoods and see if it can be fixed.

Thats deff what I tried at first, no one will do it or guarantee it. The 2 specialists I spoke to said the A5 hood rear windows are factory pressed/bonded, and no after market glue seems to keep it sealed, and it comes off again within a couple of months.
I'd much rather repair than replace, any experts out there willing to advise?
Thanks

Yeah, there is a thread on here where people have glued them back on and there are similar reports. Just out of interest, do you keep your car garaged or outside?
