Anybody else with high RPM at standstill?

My 3.0TDI will not go lower than 950rpm, it don't matter if the engine is cold or warm, still the same.

As I remember it should be something between 600-700?

my one's reving on about 900rpms only when its cold on standstill, after while comming down to about 600, when starting on warmed engine it holds about 600 RPM's. I think You should ask your dealer about it.

I.. dont .. know to be honest. And also I am not sure is CO2 things staying at same value after remaping..?
rino... reason I asked, it was a well known problem years ago when creating a leaner mixture tick over was increased to stop stalling (good old BMC A and B series motors) I wondered if the lower CO2 motor may have different tickover speed? just an idle (or is it idling?) thought!
I have the "old" version with higher CO2.

My mistake.. wrong in the signature, should be 10 spoke "V" design:eek:

Will take it 2 the dealer...
High RPM

Let me know how you go on with this. I have a 3.0 TDI and its doing the same. RPM at standstill even after warm is now 950 rather than 650-700 as it was before. If i am standing in traffic and it gets really warm it then drops to 650 !

I`m booked for a check 12/02:) will let u know how it goes!
I had this fault on my car over a year ago,it took the dealer 5 days to fix. They changed lots of parts, none of which cured it,they fixed it by doing a ecu software update, has been perfect ever since:)

I asked my dealer about my older 4.2 A6 reving higher than normal sometimes. They said that is normal, it does it to cope with things like temp, electrical draw, exc. They said after it does its thing it will return to normal idle. And they were right.

You can probably just ask a tech from audi over the phone and they can tell you if this is normal with your particular vehicle.
Mines Idiling at 900 aswell.... Probably at the moment to keep the seats Hot, Air Hot and the Music Blaring - I like doing my bit for Global Warming on these cold Days :D
Mine also starts off at 900 in the cold but drops to just over 600 when the engine is warmed up. I have the seat heating off but will check tomorrow to see what difference that makes.
