Since the start of the cold weather I've noticed the heating isn't as good as it was.

2013 A5 3.0l Black ed

A/C Works fine with full power however when using the heater on max its barely a trickle from side and windscreen vents and nothing from front or rear central vents. When demister is switched on flow improves slightly.

Prior to the issue it was fine and if set to max would get to uncomfortably hot temps. Engine temps are fine and steady and there's the correct amount of coolant in the tank.

Can anyone advise where to start? Hoping its as simple as a thermostat not opening the flaps.

Did you check VCDS for any fault codes?

Hopefully getting fault codes checked in the next couple of days. Really need to invest in my own reader.

No fault codes relative to AC heater issue. Flaps operated normally via obd and now I am getting hot air from the central vents just at a lower volume than before. Same as before if I turn it to cold I get a full flow of air so only appears to be when heats involved. I'm thinking thermostat issue telling the heater unit to keep the vents closed till the air is hot enough?
