Hi guys,

Mrs A5 has been getting the "Headlight Range Control Defective" message for some time now so I thought I should investigate. From VCDS it was showing the G78 sensor showing faulty with zero voltage going to it! So Ive changed the sensor, and still showing as faulty. Mind boggling because the headlights do actually function as intended - it just keeps throwing the error on the dash for some reason!?

Anyone had this problem before and if so what was your remedy

Thanks,

Jack

Got the same problem changed the sensor and its still the same but my lights are working as they should doing the up down sweep and working fine.I think sometimes you have to do a reset on vcds or obd 11 I've tried unsuccessfully on obd 11 so I've given up until my mot is due in march.Let me know if you find out please.

I’m using vagcom and no joy with that - I’d like to think if vagcom cannot help me, Carly can’t but I don’t know lol
